Start journey Learn moreThe only legal route to buy Mounjaro in the UK is through a valid prescription, issued after a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. That single fact narrows your choices considerably — and it should. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a Prescription-Only Medicine, which means no pharmacy, clinic or website can supply it without first putting you in front of a clinician who confirms it's right for you. Where you buy it matters less than how you buy it: the right place is one that prioritises your safety over its own speed of sale. At nume, our GPhC-registered pharmacy handles the whole process (consultation through delivery) with a real prescriber reviewing every order. Start your free consultation whenever you're ready.

A question our prescribers hear most weeks goes something like: "I've found it cheaper on another site, is that okay?" It's a fair thing to ask. But it's also the wrong starting point. The first thing to establish about any Mounjaro supplier isn't the price, it's whether they are a registered UK pharmacy operating within the law.
Mounjaro is a Prescription-Only Medicine regulated under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. Any UK pharmacy supplying it must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You can verify any online pharmacy in seconds using the GPhC register, and you should, regardless of which service you use. If a site is not on that register, it cannot legally dispense a prescription medicine to you.
The MHRA has repeatedly warned the public about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online and through social media, some of which have contained insulin instead of the stated medicine. In October 2025, enforcement teams raided an illicit manufacturing site in Northampton producing fake tirzepatide pens, and around 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines worth an estimated £45 million had been seized across 2025 alone. The MHRA's Yellow Card scheme lets you report a suspect seller directly. If you are researching where to buy a slimming injection like Mounjaro, prices far below the market, sellers on social media, and platforms that offer these medicines without a clinical assessment first are all red flags worth taking seriously.
Once you've confirmed a pharmacy is legitimate, the clinical process matters just as much as the register check. A prescriber should review your medical history, current medicines, BMI, and any relevant conditions before issuing a prescription, not after.
Mounjaro became available through NHS England from June 2025, but access is phased and criteria are strict. Currently, the NHS route is open to adults with a BMI of 40 or above who also have four or more of a defined set of weight-related conditions, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidaemia, obstructive sleep apnoea, and cardiovascular disease. A second cohort (BMI 35 to 39.9 with four or more of those conditions) became eligible from June 2026. Even when you meet the criteria, treatment must be provided within a structured programme and waiting times vary significantly by area.
The NICE appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026) sets out the full qualifying criteria, which include lower BMI thresholds for some ethnic backgrounds. You can read the recommendations chapter directly at NICE TA1026.
The private route (through a GPhC-registered pharmacy like ours) doesn't require you to have multiple comorbidities or to wait for a phased rollout. The licensed eligibility criteria for private prescribing are broader: adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes or obstructive sleep apnoea. A prescriber still assesses your full picture (BMI alone doesn't determine approval) but the process is faster and the criteria aren't tied to NHS commissioning phases. Our overview of weight-loss treatment options sets out both routes clearly.
Not all online pharmacies offering Mounjaro are equal, even among the legitimate ones. The differences show up in the detail of their clinical process, not their landing pages.
A genuinely safe service will verify your identity with photo ID, confirm your weight on a live video call rather than trusting a self-reported figure, notify your GP in line with GPhC guidance, and carry out a fresh clinical review before each repeat order rather than auto-dispensing. If a site skips any of those steps, that's worth knowing before you hand over payment details.
You can read more about what a legitimate buying process looks like on our guide to safe places to buy Mounjaro, or explore the considerations specific to buying online. For a direct comparison of options in the UK market, the question of where exactly to buy is worth reading through carefully.
Supply chain matters too. Genuine Mounjaro is sourced through the licensed UK supply chain, Eli Lilly's authorised distribution network. Counterfeit pens can look convincing. The only reliable way to be sure is a registered pharmacy you can verify, dispensing against a prescription issued by a qualified prescriber.
Our clinical team (led by our prescribers) follows a consistent process designed around safety first. Here's how it works in practice.
You complete a free consultation online: medical history, current medicines, weight, relevant conditions. That consultation is reviewed the same day by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber. We verify your identity with photo ID and confirm your weight on a video call. Your GP is notified in line with GPhC guidance. If your prescriber determines Mounjaro is clinically appropriate for you, your prescription is issued and your treatment is dispatched from our pharmacy the same day, provided you've ordered before midday on a weekday. DPD delivers it free, next working day, tracked to your door in plain packaging.
There is no subscription. Every repeat order goes through a fresh clinical review. The full FAQ page covers questions about the process in more detail, and our team is available through the contact page seven days a week if something specific comes up. If you want to see how our approach compares to other options, the best place to buy Mounjaro from page explores that further. Ready to find out if it's right for you?
