BMI 25 and Wegovy: What the Eligibility Rules Actually Say

Step 1 — Check where BMI 25 sits in the licensing rules

Wegovy's UK licence, granted by the MHRA for weight management, draws a clear line: BMI of 30 or higher, or BMI of 27 to 29.9 if the person also has at least one weight-related condition. Step 2, Understand what the ethnic-background adjustment does and does not change

UK guidance acknowledges that BMI is an imperfect tool across different body types and ancestries.
