Step 1: Check whether you currently fall inside the NHS eligibility window

If your BMI is 32, or you have one or two weight-related conditions, you are not currently in scope for NHS Mounjaro regardless of how long you've struggled with your weight. That may feel harsh. It is simply where the rollout stands.

Step 2: Understand what receiving it on the NHS actually involves

Meeting the BMI and condition thresholds doesn't put a pen in your hand the following week. NHS access comes with obligations on both sides.

Every patient prescribed tirzepatide on the NHS must be enrolled in wraparound care, a structured programme covering diet, activity and behaviour support. Ask directly; not every practice has publicised that it can now prescribe tirzepatide, and a straightforward conversation about your BMI and existing conditions may open the door faster than you expect.
