Start journey Learn moreWegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription-only medicine available through private clinics and online pharmacies in the UK, with typical monthly costs ranging roughly £150–£375 depending on the dose and provider, as widely reported following Eli Lilly's supply-chain pricing changes in 2025. Because it requires a valid prescription following clinical assessment, any legitimate listing for Wegovy online will include that clinical step — the cost question is really a question about what that total price includes. Wegovy is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above alongside a weight-related health condition, and a qualified prescriber must confirm suitability before any medicine is dispensed. Our Wegovy overview page covers the medicine itself in full; this page focuses on what drives the price and what a genuinely transparent service should include.

The short answer is that headline prices aren't always quoting the same thing. Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine (POM), which means every legal supply in the UK must follow a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. That assessment carries real cost: a prescriber's time, pharmacy overheads, GPhC-registered dispensing, and the supply chain that ensures the medicine is genuine and stored correctly from manufacturer to your door.
Some providers quote a medicine-only price and add consultation fees, prescription charges or delivery costs at checkout. Others bundle everything. When you're comparing figures, the NICE appraisal of semaglutide for weight management (TA875) and NHS England's guidance on weight-management injections both make clear that clinical oversight and behavioural support sit alongside the medicine itself, a reflection of how seriously regulators treat appropriate prescribing of these treatments.
Semaglutide titrates through several doses, starting at 0.25mg and working up, under prescriber guidance, to 2.4mg or now the newly approved 7.2mg pen. Each dose change is a new clinical decision. If you're trying to find semaglutide cheap online, bear in mind that a provider whose price looks low at starter doses may charge separately for each review, each prescription, each delivery. Those costs accumulate. The true comparison is total spend per month, including everything your treatment actually requires.
It's a fair question, and worth asking plainly before any purchase. The most common omissions from a low headline price are: the consultation fee (sometimes charged separately as an "admin" or "assessment" fee); the prescription charge (charged per issue); tracked, temperature-appropriate delivery; and any access to a prescriber between orders if you have questions or a side effect to discuss.
For a medicine that needs to be refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C (details in the Patient Information Leaflet; always check the Wegovy SmPC on the eMC for the precise storage requirements), cold-chain logistics matter. A pen that arrives in inadequate packaging after sitting in a standard unrefrigerated parcel may have been compromised before you use it. That risk isn't priced into the cheapest listing.
There's a harder concern too. The MHRA has warned publicly and repeatedly about fake weight-loss pens circulating online. In 2025 alone, approximately 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines (valued at around £45m) were seized, and the first UK site producing counterfeit tirzepatide pens was raided. Sellers advertising the cheapest Wegovy online at prices far below market rates, without a clear prescribing pathway, are a red flag. Report any suspect seller at the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme, which accepts reports from patients as well as healthcare professionals.
We won't win a race-to-the-bottom price comparison. That's a choice, not an oversight. One transparent price at nume covers the consultation, the prescription, the medicine, free next-working-day DPD delivery in plain unbranded packaging, and priority aftercare seven days a week. There are no hidden fees waiting at checkout, no subscription that renews quietly, and no auto-dispatch, every repeat order is clinically reviewed again from scratch.
Our pharmacy is GPhC-registered (registration number 9012878, verifiable directly on the GPhC register), and every consultation is read personally by one of our GPhC-registered Independent Prescribers, not processed by an automated system. If you order before 12pm on a working day and are clinically approved, your treatment is dispatched that afternoon. The pen goes into your fridge door that evening. That level of service has a cost, and we think it's the right cost for a prescription medicine.
Current treatment pricing is shown on our treatment page; we don't publish per-pen prices in editorial copy, because the price that matters to you depends on your starting dose and your clinical picture, both of which a prescriber works through with you. If you want a full breakdown of how ongoing costs compare across the titration schedule, our Wegovy price guide goes into detail.
Price matters. We're not dismissing it. But for a prescription-only medicine with a clinical assessment requirement built into the law, the cheapest listing answers a different question to the one that keeps you safe. The right questions are: is this a GPhC-registered pharmacy? Is a qualified prescriber reviewing my consultation personally? Is the medicine coming through the licensed UK supply chain? Will someone be reachable if I experience side effects?
The NICE technology appraisal of semaglutide for weight management (TA875) recommends the medicine only within a specialist service with multidisciplinary support, a recognition that clinical supervision is part of what makes treatment work. Private routes exist precisely for people who can't access the NHS pathway or don't want to wait; they should replicate that standard of care, not strip it out to hit a price point.
If cost is a genuine barrier, our guide to Wegovy price online is a more useful starting point than searching for discounts, and it also covers how Wegovy compares as a value proposition against alternatives such as Saxenda, which you can explore further in our Saxenda vs Wegovy price breakdown. If you want to understand what the full wegovy online cost includes across consultation, dispensing and delivery, our dedicated breakdown covers each component in plain terms. And if you're still wondering how much wegovy is online from a registered UK pharmacy, that page walks you through current figures by dose. And if you'd like to explore whether Wegovy is the right option for you, speak to our prescribers, the consultation is free.
