Why do Mounjaro prices vary so much across UK providers?

Mounjaro is tirzepatide, a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist manufactured by Eli Lilly. It is a prescription-only medicine, which means no UK pharmacy can legally supply it without a valid prescription generated after a clinical assessment. That clinical work has a cost, and legitimate providers price it somewhere. The variation you see across the market largely comes down to whether the consultation, prescription, aftercare and delivery are bundled into one figure or charged separately as you go.

Dose plays a big part too. Treatment starts at 2.5mg (the starter dose, designed to help your system adjust before the prescriber moves you up) and the medicine is available in six strengths up to 15mg. Eli Lilly raised the UK list price for Mounjaro significantly from 1 September 2025, the highest dose's list price reportedly rose from around £122 to around £330 per four-week pen. Private market prices adjusted accordingly. What do cheap Mounjaro listings often leave out?

Fake pens have been found to contain insulin rather than tirzepatide, with serious consequences for people who used them.

Sellers offering Mounjaro without a prescription, via social media, or at prices dramatically below the market range are the most common source of counterfeit product. A modest saving is not worth the risk of receiving a pen that contains something entirely different.
