The Cheapest Place to Get Weight Loss Injections — and Why Price Alone Is the Wrong Question

Free clinical consultation, personally reviewed by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber, your answers go to a clinician, not a queue.
Free prescription included when treatment is clinically approved, with no separate administration charge.
Free next-working-day tracked delivery via DPD, in plain unbranded packaging, order before 12pm and dispatch happens the same day once approved.
Priority aftercare seven days a week, included as standard, no add-on fees, no subscription, no auto-renewal.

The cheapest place to get weight loss injections in the UK will vary by provider and dose, but any legitimate price must include a prescription following a clinical assessment — these are prescription-only medicines that cannot legally be sold or supplied without one. Private monthly costs have ranged from roughly £149 to £375 since Eli Lilly raised Mounjaro's UK list price in September 2025, with the exact figure depending on the medicine, the dose and what the provider actually includes. That range is reported across the market; the number on any given listing may cover only the pen itself, or it may cover everything from your consultation to your aftercare calls. Knowing which is which matters more than spotting the lowest headline figure. You can read about how weight loss injections work in the UK if you want the clinical picture first.

How private pricing for weight loss injections actually works, and what to look for beyond the number

Step 1: understand what the UK market price reflects

Weight loss injections (primarily Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide)) are Prescription-Only Medicines. Every legitimate supply chain runs through a prescriber who reviews your health, a licensed pharmacy that dispenses the medicine and a delivery network that keeps temperature-controlled pens intact. Those steps have real costs, and a headline price that looks significantly below the market rate almost certainly excludes one of them.

Since Eli Lilly revised Mounjaro's UK list price upward from 1 September 2025, the private market has broadly settled in a range of around £149 to £375 per month, varying by medicine and by dose, figures that have been widely reported since Lilly's UK announcement. Wegovy pricing sits in a similar band. Treat any figure you see as a starting point, not a final cost, until you have read exactly what it covers. The results you might reasonably expect from these medicines also depend heavily on consistent, clinically supervised treatment, which a bare-bones lowest-price option rarely provides.

One practical note: if you are ordering before 12pm on a weekday, same-day dispatch is possible once your prescription is approved. That kind of logistical reliability only exists when the pharmacy behind the listing is properly registered and staffed.

Step 2: check what a headline price actually includes

This is where comparing cheapest places gets complicated. Some providers charge separately for the consultation, the prescription, the delivery, and any clinical follow-up. Others bundle some but not all. A few charge a monthly membership fee on top of the medicine price. The only way to make a fair comparison is to add every line together.

Common items that headline prices frequently omit: the initial clinical consultation (sometimes £25–£50 extra), a prescription fee, tracked refrigerated delivery (essential for injectables that must be kept at 2–8°C), dose-review calls when you move up the titration schedule, and ongoing aftercare if you experience side effects. If the listing you are looking at does not clearly state these are included, assume they are not. You can verify whether any online provider is operating lawfully by checking the GPhC pharmacy register, a real GPhC-registered pharmacy will be findable in seconds.

The MHRA has also warned publicly about counterfeit weight loss pens sold online, some of which have contained the wrong substance entirely. Large seizures of fake pens have been made across the UK. If a price looks dramatically lower than the market range, or a seller is offering to supply these medicines without a clinical assessment, that is a serious red flag, report suspect sellers via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. Our guide on the safest and most cost-effective routes to treatment covers this in more detail.

Step 3: weigh what you actually get for the price

At nume, we are not the cheapest option on the market. That is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. One transparent price covers your consultation, your prescription, your medicine, tracked next-working-day DPD delivery and seven-day aftercare, nothing is itemised separately and nothing renews automatically. A real, named GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber reads your consultation the same day; a software filter does not. Our GPhC premises registration is 9012878, verifiable directly at the GPhC register.

For a prescription medicine, price is simply the wrong test. The right questions are: is this pharmacy GPhC-registered? Is a qualified prescriber reviewing my health before every supply? Is the medicine coming from the licensed UK supply chain? Those answers protect you in ways that saving a few pounds cannot. You can learn more about the full range of weight management treatments we offer, or read how nume works if you want to understand the service before starting.

Step 4: check whether NHS access applies to you

Before spending anything privately, it is worth knowing whether you qualify for NHS-funded treatment. NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide (Mounjaro) (NICE TA1026) recommends it for adults with a BMI of 35 or above plus at least one weight-related condition, with lower thresholds for some ethnic backgrounds. NHS England is rolling out access in phases: from June 2025 for those with BMI 40-plus and four or more qualifying conditions, expanding from around June 2026. Meeting NICE criteria does not guarantee immediate access, waiting lists exist and GP practice participation varies.

If you do not meet NHS criteria yet, or prefer not to wait, a regulated private pharmacy is the legal alternative. There is no shortcut that skips clinical assessment, any listing that implies otherwise is not operating within UK law.
