Mounjaro's UK private price has risen significantly, and it rose again from 1 September 2025. Eli Lilly increased the list price of the highest-dose pen from around £122 to around £330, and private providers adjusted their prices accordingly — typical private costs now range roughly £149–£375 per month depending on dose and service. These are prescription-only medicines: a qualified prescriber must assess your suitability before any treatment is supplied. The price you pay for a legitimate course of Mounjaro should always include that clinical oversight — if a price seems to exclude it, ask why.

How Mounjaro pricing has moved, what drives it, and how to read any quote you're given

Step 1: understand what actually changed and when

Mounjaro's UK price trajectory is worth understanding before you compare any quote. For most of its early availability, the private cost per pen sat at relatively modest levels, around £122 per pen for the highest strengths was widely reported as the Eli Lilly list price. That changed substantially from 1 September 2025, when Eli Lilly raised the list price of the highest-dose pen to around £330. Private clinics and pharmacies price above list to cover dispensing, prescribing and operational costs, so typical private monthly costs moved into the £149–£375 range depending on which strength you're taking and who you're using. Those figures are hedged as reported market context, not promises about what any single provider charges today.

A question our prescribers hear most weeks is whether the Mounjaro price will keep rising, and the honest answer is that no one outside Eli Lilly can say with certainty. What is clear is that a dose-escalation schedule (starting at 2.5 mg and titrating through six possible strengths) means the cost of your treatment can change as your dose changes. You can read a fuller breakdown of how high Mounjaro's private price goes at each strength to see what different dose steps typically cost across the market.

Understanding the direction of price movement also means understanding NHS access. Mounjaro is now being rolled out in stages through the NHS, which affects who reaches for private options. Our weight-loss treatments overview explains both routes clearly.

Step 2: look at what any quoted price actually includes

A headline monthly price for Mounjaro can mean very different things. Some providers quote the cost of the pen alone, with consultation fees, prescription charges and delivery added separately at checkout. Others build everything in. The difference can be substantial, and it only becomes visible once you're part-way through the process.

Here is what a fully transparent price should cover: the clinical consultation where your history, weight and any relevant conditions are assessed; the prescription itself, written by a qualified prescriber; the medicine; and delivery. Aftercare (support when you have questions about a side effect, when you're considering a dose change, or when you've had a difficult week) is routinely absent from cheaper headline prices. So is clinical re-review at repeat. The Mounjaro price guide on this site walks through each of these components so you know what to look for when you compare.

One practical note: treatment starts at 2.5 mg because the body needs time to adjust, not because 2.5 mg is the target. Your dose may increase over several months. A provider that quotes you only the starter-dose price without making the escalation costs transparent is giving you an incomplete picture. You can check when Mounjaro's price typically goes up during a course for more detail on that escalation pattern.

Step 3: how nume prices this, plainly

We are not the cheapest option, and that is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. One transparent price at nume covers everything listed in the bullets above: free consultation, the prescriber's clinical review, the medicine, free next-working-day tracked delivery and 7-day aftercare. No add-ons surface at checkout. No subscription renews quietly in the background. Every repeat order goes back to a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber for review, a real clinician reads your case, not automated software.

Current treatment pricing is shown on our weight-loss treatments page, where you can start your free consultation. We don't publish per-pen prices in body copy because doses vary and the right dose for you is a clinical decision, not a product choice.

If you want to understand how our clinical team is structured, the clinical team profile sets that out, and you can read more about who we are before you decide. Our pharmacy is registered with the GPhC, registration number 9012878, verifiable at the GPhC pharmacy register.

Step 4: why cost is the wrong first filter for a prescription medicine

For a Prescription-Only Medicine, the cheapest listing answers the wrong question. The right questions are: is this a pharmacy I can verify on a regulator's register? Is there a real prescriber assessing me? Is the medicine coming through the licensed UK supply chain?

The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online, including fake pens that have contained insulin rather than tirzepatide, leading to hospitalisations. In 2025 alone, around 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines (roughly £45 million in street value) were seized, and the first UK site manufacturing counterfeit tirzepatide pens was raided. You can report suspect sellers at the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. Red flags include prices far below the market range, sellers operating without requiring a clinical consultation, and discount codes offered for prescription medicines from sources you cannot verify.

The full Mounjaro cost guide covers the market in more depth. If you have questions before starting, our FAQs or the support team are there. When you're ready, start your free consultation on the weight-loss treatments page.
