The moment it hits the floor: what to do in the first 60 seconds

You've picked the pen up off the bathroom tiles and your stomach has dropped slightly. What dropped doesn't mean wasted: the partial-dose question

This is the scenario that worries people most. You're not sure if the pen fired on impact. You're wondering whether injecting now would give you a double dose, or whether skipping this week means losing momentum.

Here's the practical reality. If the pen fired fully on impact, the counter will show it, check the dose window. If it fired partially, you will usually see the counter at an intermediate position and there may be liquid on the floor or on the pen itself. Disposing of a damaged pen safely

If the pen is damaged and can't be used, it still contains a needle and potentially residual medicine. It cannot go in household recycling or a general bin.
