Start journey Learn moreThe easiest way to get Mounjaro in the UK is through a regulated online pharmacy that handles your consultation, prescription and delivery in a single, same-day process. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, so a qualified prescriber must assess your medical history before any supply can be made — there is no legitimate shortcut around that step. What does vary enormously between routes is how fast, how safe and how straightforward that process is. A GPhC-registered online pharmacy like nume can take you from first form to pen-in-hand in under 24 hours if you order before midday on a weekday. That is, genuinely, as quick as this medicine can legally move.

Mounjaro became available on the NHS following NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide (published December 2024, updated September 2025). The criteria, though, are deliberately narrow at this early stage. Currently, NHS access requires a BMI of 40 or above alongside four or more specific weight-related conditions, high blood pressure, dyslipidaemia, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease or type 2 diabetes. NICE's guidance on tirzepatide (TA1026) sets this phased structure, and NHS England is expanding cohorts gradually through 2026 and 2027.
For most adults who are eligible under the licensed criteria but don't meet the NHS thresholds yet (or who simply don't want to wait) a private prescription is the practical answer. That is the route this page focuses on, because it is the one you can actually act on today.
The private route works like this: you complete a clinical questionnaire with a regulated online pharmacy, a GPhC-registered prescriber reads your answers and medical history personally, and if Mounjaro is appropriate for you, a prescription is issued and your pen is dispatched. At nume (sorry, at the route described here) the full consultation, prescription and next-working-day tracked delivery are included in one price, with no subscription and no auto-renewal. A clinician on our team reviews every order personally.
Speed is the obvious factor, but there are three things that actually determine how smooth the process feels. First: whether the pharmacy requires an in-person or video element. A live weight verification call, while it adds a short step, is one of the safety measures that separates a serious clinical service from a form-and-pay operation. Second: same-day dispatch. If you order before midday Monday to Friday, a same-day clinical review and same-day dispatch means the pen arrives the next working day. Third: aftercare. Mounjaro is titrated over months, you start at 2.5mg, and your prescriber typically moves the dose upward every four weeks. A provider without responsive clinical support becomes a friction point at every repeat.
Timing also plays a practical role in ways people don't always think about. A Monday order before noon lands Tuesday; a Friday afternoon order, realistically, arrives Monday. If your treatment anniversary falls near a bank holiday, it is worth ordering a day or two earlier. Small things, but worth knowing before you plan.
You can explore where to get Mounjaro in the UK and compare the available service types, the landscape has shifted considerably since 2023.
The MHRA has issued multiple public warnings about counterfeit tirzepatide pens circulating via social media and unregulated websites, in October 2025, enforcement teams raided the first illicit UK site manufacturing fake tirzepatide pens, and approximately 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines (around £45m in street value) had already been seized across 2025. Fake pens have been found to contain insulin, with no active GLP-1 ingredient at all.
Before using any online pharmacy, search for its GPhC registration number on the GPhC register. A seller offering Mounjaro without asking for a prescription, conducting a medical review or verifying your identity is, by definition, operating outside the law. Price alone is not a reliable guide, the cost of Mounjaro varies by dose and provider, but a legitimate price always includes clinical assessment and prescription; one that seems too low usually means something has been cut.
Our GPhC premises registration is 9012878, verifiable at the register link above.
The licensed eligibility criteria for Mounjaro are set out in the medicine's Summary of Product Characteristics, as described on the NHS tirzepatide page. Adults with a BMI of 30 or above qualify on BMI alone. Those with a BMI between 27 and 29.9 can also be eligible if they have at least one weight-related condition, examples include hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and obstructive sleep apnoea. Lower BMI thresholds apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance.
BMI is not the whole picture. A prescriber will also consider your medical history, any medicines you already take, and any conditions that would make tirzepatide unsuitable, including a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, a history of pancreatitis, or current pregnancy. The consultation exists to surface exactly these details, so that treatment is safe from the first dose.
If you want to understand more about how the medicine itself works before starting, our overview of tirzepatide covers the mechanism, the clinical evidence and how the dosing schedule tends to unfold in practice. The practical side of taking Mounjaro (injection technique, timing, storage) is also worth reading before your first pen arrives.
