One transparent price covers your consultation, prescription, treatment and aftercare; no subscription, no hidden fees, and every repeat order is reviewed fresh.

Most people assume they can simply stock up on Mounjaro pens whenever they like. In practice, how many you can buy at once depends on your prescription, your clinical review, and what a GPhC-registered prescriber considers appropriate for your current dose and circumstances. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, which means a qualified prescriber decides the quantity issued after assessing your individual situation — not the pharmacy, and not you. At nume, that assessment happens the same day you apply, carried out by a named GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber reviewing your consultation in full.

What actually determines how many pens a prescriber can issue you, and why it matters

The myth: you can order however many pens you want, like toothpaste

This is the biggest misconception our prescribers encounter. Mounjaro is a Prescription-Only Medicine under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, which means no one (online or on the high street) can legally supply it without a valid prescription written by an authorised prescriber for that individual patient. The quantity on that prescription is a clinical decision, not a retail one.

In practice, most private prescribers issue one pen per supply (covering four weekly injections at your current dose) because Mounjaro is titrated gradually, typically in four-week steps, starting at 2.5 mg. Issuing several pens ahead of a scheduled dose review would mean prescribing for a dose that may need to change before those pens are used. That is not safe clinical practice, and a conscientious prescriber will not do it.

There is no blanket rule saying you cannot receive two pens at once: some circumstances, such as a confirmed stable maintenance dose with documented evidence, may support a two-pen supply. You can read more about that specific question on our page about ordering two Mounjaro pens at once. The short answer, though, is that the prescriber decides, not you, not the pharmacy counter.

The NHS patient information for tirzepatide is clear that dosing and supply decisions rest with the prescriber. Any seller offering to let you choose your own quantity without clinical involvement is a red flag, not a convenience.

Buying more pens than your prescription allows: the counterfeit risk hiding in plain sight

When people search for ways to buy multiple Mounjaro pens at once without going through a prescriber, they often end up in front of social-media sellers, unofficial websites and grey-market listings. The MHRA has warned publicly and repeatedly about counterfeit weight-loss pens circulating online. In October 2025, enforcement teams raided the first illicit UK manufacturing site producing fake tirzepatide pens, and by that point, approximately 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines with a street value of around £45 million had already been seized. Some fake pens seized in earlier operations were found to contain insulin, which can be life-threatening in someone without diabetes.

The safe route is straightforward: a prescription from a regulated prescriber, dispensed by a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register. To check any online pharmacy, visit the GPhC pharmacy register, our premises registration number is 9012878. Sellers who advertise multiple pens with no clinical assessment, or who promote discount prices well below the reported market range, are operating outside the law. Report them via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.

How the prescription quantity works at a regulated pharmacy like nume

When you complete a consultation with us, a prescriber reviews everything: your BMI, weight-related health history, any medicines you already take, and whether Mounjaro is clinically appropriate at this dose and at this point in your treatment. The prescription they write specifies the strength and quantity that fits your current stage.

For most people starting out, that is a single 2.5 mg pen, one pen, four weekly injections, then a review before anything changes. If you would like to understand exactly what the process involves, our guide to buying a Mounjaro pen walks you through each step from consultation to delivery. Once you open it you will see exactly what you ordered: a discreet, clinically precise device, nothing else. Subsequent orders at higher doses require fresh clinical review and, in some cases, evidence of progress, before a prescriber will issue the next pen at the increased strength.

There is no workaround to that process, and there should not be. The titration schedule exists because tolerability matters. Jumping ahead (or stockpiling pens at a dose that is about to change) does not help your treatment; it just introduces risk. A question our prescribers hear fairly often is whether you can get several pens at your stable maintenance dose. Explore our guide to ordering two pens at the same time for the detailed clinical answer to that specific scenario.

Who can get Mounjaro through a private service, and how to start

The licensed eligibility criteria for private supply follow the Mounjaro SmPC: adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or adults with a BMI of 27 or above who have at least one weight-related condition, for instance, high blood pressure, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol or obstructive sleep apnoea. Lower BMI thresholds apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance. BMI alone is never the whole picture; the prescriber weighs your full health history before approving treatment.

If you are currently on Mounjaro through another provider and want to transfer your care, our team can review evidence of your existing treatment. Dose increases follow the same clinical-evidence standard. You can find an overview of all weight-management treatments we offer on our weight-loss treatments page, or go straight to a consultation at our consultation hub.

NHS access operates through a phased rollout with strict eligibility thresholds, waiting lists can be long and criteria are tighter than private eligibility. If you are unsure whether you qualify or where to obtain it, our page answering whether you can buy Mounjaro explains who is eligible and through which routes. Our Mounjaro information page covers NHS and private access side by side if you want to compare before you decide.
