Start journey Learn moreThe 2.4mg Wegovy pen is the standard maintenance dose — and the one most people are asking about when they want to understand what ongoing treatment actually costs. In the UK private market, monthly costs for Wegovy vary by provider and dose, with the 2.4mg pen typically ranging from around £200 to well over £300 per four-week supply, depending on what the provider includes. That range reflects a real difference in what you get, not just what you pay. Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription-only medicine licensed for weight management in UK adults; a prescriber must assess your suitability before any supply, which means any price you see should include a legitimate clinical assessment — if it doesn't, that is a red flag worth taking seriously.

Most people arrive at this question having already done some research. They know 2.4mg is the maintenance dose most adults work up to on Wegovy's titration schedule, and they want to plan their budget. That's a sensible thing to do. What's less obvious is that private prescription pricing for Wegovy is not standardised, a number quoted on a website may or may not include the consultation fee, the prescription charge, and delivery. Some providers list these separately; others bundle them. A price that looks lower on screen can end up costing more once those line items appear at checkout.
The NHS England guidance on weight management injections is a useful reference point: it sets out what a clinically appropriate weight-loss medicine service should involve, including ongoing clinical support. When you see a price, it is worth asking whether any of that support is included or whether it costs extra. Aftercare (what happens when you feel sick, when you want to increase your dose, when you have a question at 7pm on a Sunday) has real value, and the cheapest listing rarely prices it in.
Also worth knowing: the 2.4mg pen's price in the private market shifted after Eli Lilly (Mounjaro's manufacturer) raised its list price significantly in September 2025. Wegovy sits in the same market conversation, so private clinic pricing across GLP-1 medicines has been moving. Any specific figure you read on a price-comparison page may already be out of date. The most accurate number for any regulated service is the one shown on that service's own treatment page, at the time you look.
A headline pen price is often just that, the pen. Here is what is commonly charged separately, depending on the provider: an initial consultation fee (sometimes £30–£75); a prescription fee on top of the medicine cost; a delivery charge, which can be £5–£15 per order; and any dose-review or repeat-prescription fee. These additions are not always listed prominently. It's also worth noting that most people do not start on 2.4mg. The Wegovy titration schedule begins at 0.25mg and moves upward in stages, typically over several months, before reaching 2.4mg as the maintenance dose, so early orders are at lower-dose, often lower-cost pens. The full cost of a Wegovy course across all doses is a more complete picture than any single pen price.
There is also the question of what happens when things don't go smoothly. GI side effects (nausea, indigestion, changes in appetite) are common when starting or increasing GLP-1 medicines, as the NHS tirzepatide and semaglutide medicines pages note. A provider with genuine aftercare built into the price will have a clinician available when that happens. One without it will direct you to your GP or a premium-rate phone line. The 2.4mg Wegovy cost you actually pay, across a year of treatment, includes those moments whether the invoice shows them or not.
One practical point many people overlook: Wegovy pens must be stored in the fridge. If a provider ships without appropriate cold-chain packaging, or if you're buying from an unverified seller online, there is no guarantee the pen arrived in the condition it left the manufacturer. The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit and improperly stored weight-loss pens sold through social media and unofficial channels, report any suspect sellers at the MHRA's Yellow Card site. Genuine supply chain matters more than a few pounds' saving.
We'll say it plainly: nume is not the lowest-priced option you will find. That is a deliberate choice. The price you pay covers the consultation, the prescription, the medicine itself, next-working-day DPD delivery in plain packaging, and aftercare seven days a week, with a real prescriber reading your answers before every repeat order. Nothing is itemised separately. No subscription locks you in; you order when it suits you, and a clinician reviews it fresh each time.
Our pharmacy is GPhC-registered (you can verify registration number 9012878 directly on the GPhC register). Medicines come through the licensed UK supply chain, sourced from Novo Nordisk's authorised network. For a prescription medicine, the cheapest option answers the wrong question. The right question is whether the clinical assessment is real, the supply is genuine, and someone qualified is available if you need them.
If you want to see current treatment pricing, it's shown clearly on our weight-loss treatments page, no hidden line items, no checkout surprises. We also have a broader look at how Wegovy pricing works across doses if you're earlier in the research stage. And if you want to understand the full medicine before thinking about cost, our Wegovy medicine overview covers what semaglutide is, how it works, and what the clinical evidence shows. Our clinical team reviews every consultation personally, something we think is worth paying for, and something no algorithm can replicate.
