Mounjaro®
Starting from £179.99/mo
Start journey Learn moreThe 2.5mg Mounjaro KwikPen delivers a fixed 0.5ml subcutaneous dose each week — the volume is pre-set and cannot be adjusted. Every pen contains four of those 0.5ml doses, giving a total fill of 2ml per pen. That's the ml question answered. The pricing question is a different matter: because Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, any legitimate cost you see from a UK provider includes far more than a pen of fluid. As the NHS tirzepatide medicines page explains, it must be prescribed following a clinical assessment — which shapes what a responsible price actually covers.

A question our prescribers hear most weeks goes something like: "I've seen wildly different prices online) is the 2.5mg pen I'm being quoted the same product?" The answer lies partly in understanding that the 0.5ml injection volume is fixed for every 2.5mg Mounjaro KwikPen made by Eli Lilly. The pen's format doesn't vary; what varies is everything that surrounds it.
Under the Human Medicines Regulations, tirzepatide can only be dispensed against a valid prescription. That means any headline figure you see for a 2.5mg pen covers, at minimum, a prescriber's review, a prescription charge and the product itself. Providers who break those elements out separately can make the headline look smaller than a bundled price, but the total is often comparable once you add them up. How Mounjaro pricing works across UK providers is worth reading before you compare figures side by side.
The 2.5mg dose is also the starting dose under the licensed schedule. It is designed to let your system adjust to the medicine, not to deliver maximum clinical effect. Most people move through it within four weeks, subject to their prescriber's assessment. That matters for cost planning: the per-pen price changes as the dose increases, so a full-picture budget looks at the whole titration pathway rather than a single starting pen. Higher-dose pricing gives you a sense of where costs sit further into treatment.
Private UK weight-loss treatment prices are quoted in different ways, and the variation can be confusing. Some providers list the pen cost alone. Others bundle a consultation fee on top. Prescription charges, clinical review fees for repeat orders, delivery costs and access to aftercare can each appear as extras, or not appear at all until checkout.
For a prescription medicine taken over months, the aftercare element is not trivial. Dose increases require clinical sign-off. Side effects need a prescriber to discuss them with. Questions about missed doses or travel storage need answers from someone qualified to give them. When those services cost extra per interaction, a cheaper headline price can become a more expensive experience in practice. Our frequently asked questions cover what ongoing clinical support looks like in a private service.
Delivery is another line item to check. Same-day dispatch and next-working-day tracked delivery add convenience and (for a refrigerated medicine) reduce the time a pen spends in transit. Some providers charge for this separately; the difference doesn't always show in the first price you see.
The NICE technology appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026) sets out the clinical framework behind Mounjaro's use in weight management, which is worth reading if you want to understand what a properly structured treatment programme looks like.
One transparent price. That's the structure. At nume, the consultation, prescription, treatment, next-working-day delivery and 7-day aftercare are included. No subscription, no auto-renewal, no add-ons that appear after you've committed. Every repeat order is individually reviewed by a prescriber before anything is dispensed.
We are not the cheapest option in the market. That's a deliberate choice. Running a GPhC-registered pharmacy with same-day clinical review, identity verification, live weight checks by video and GP notification in line with regulator guidance costs more than a bare-minimum prescription service. We think that's the right way to dispense a prescription medicine to someone taking it for months.
Current treatment pricing is shown on our treatment page, we don't print per-pen figures in editorial copy, partly because Eli Lilly's UK list price changed materially in September 2025 and prices across the market shifted with it. What we can say is that our price is the same price regardless of which dose you're on: no hidden uplift as you titrate.
If you're comparing us with another provider, the right question isn't which number is smaller. It's what each number actually covers. The 2.5mg Mounjaro price page looks at that in more detail.
The MHRA has been clear: fake Mounjaro pens exist in the UK. In late 2025, enforcement teams raided an illicit manufacturing site producing counterfeit tirzepatide pens, and enforcement that year covered roughly 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines worth around £45 million. If you have found yourself wondering how much Mounjaro costs through legitimate channels and are unsure whether a quote you have seen reflects a real regulated service, that is exactly the right question to be asking. Sellers offering these medicines without a prescription, via social media, or at prices well below the market range are red flags, not bargains.
A genuine pen sourced through the licensed UK supply chain, reviewed by a real prescriber who has seen your health information, dispensed by a registered pharmacy you can verify at the GPhC register: that is what a legitimate price buys. If you are specifically starting treatment and want to understand how much the 2.5mg Mounjaro pen costs through a properly regulated service, that page sets out what to expect. The ml in the syringe is only part of the picture. The clinical oversight around it is what makes the treatment safe to take.
For a medicine taken weekly, the correct measure is clinical suitability and supply-chain integrity. Price is a secondary consideration, and a small saving on a pen isn't worth much if the pen's contents are unknown. Patients who want to dig further into what the 2.5ml Mounjaro price reflects in terms of volume, dose and supply-chain costs will find a fuller breakdown on that page. You can report suspect sellers directly through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. If you'd like to explore treatment through a regulated route, the starting point is checking your eligibility with our prescribers.
