The 5mg Mounjaro pen is a second-step dose in the titration schedule, and in the UK private market prices for it typically range from around £149 to over £250 per four-week pen, varying by provider and what's included. These are prescription-only medicines that require clinical assessment before a prescriber can issue a script — so the price you see always reflects more than just the medicine itself. Understanding how Mounjaro is priced across all doses helps you compare properly, because headline figures rarely tell the whole story.

What you're actually paying for when you compare 5mg Mounjaro prices

Step 1, find the real price, not just the pen price

When you search for how much a 5mg Mounjaro pen costs in the UK, you'll hit a wide range of numbers. Some providers quote the medicine in isolation; the consultation fee, the prescription charge and delivery appear later, at checkout or not at all. That's not unique to weight-loss treatment (it's common in private healthcare) but it does make like-for-like comparison harder than it looks.

Eli Lilly revised Mounjaro's UK list price from 1 September 2025. Reported private prices since then range roughly £149–£375 per four-week pen across all doses, with higher doses carrying higher prices. The 5mg pen sits mid-way in the dose schedule, so its price lands broadly in that range depending on which provider you use and what's bundled in.

The only figure that matters is the total cost of getting a legitimate, clinically supervised prescription dispensed and delivered to your door. A closer look at exactly what you get with a 5mg pen sets out the detail more fully.

Step 2, check what the headline figure leaves out

Before comparing prices for 5mg Mounjaro across providers, it's worth asking four questions. Does the price include a clinical consultation, or is that charged separately? Is there a prescription fee on top? What does delivery cost, and is it tracked? And critically, is there a clinical team available afterwards if you have questions or need a dose review?

Some services charge for each of those individually. Add them up and a headline price that looked cheap can land considerably higher than a transparent all-in alternative. This matters more at the 5mg stage than at the starter dose, because 5mg is typically when patients are beginning to see meaningful changes and have questions about how treatment is going.

Aftercare isn't a luxury for a prescription medicine, it's part of safe, supervised treatment. Our full Mounjaro pricing overview explains what the components of a legitimate private service look like.

Step 3, understand where nume sits and why

We don't compete on price. That's a deliberate choice. One transparent figure covers your free consultation, the prescription, the medicine, and free next-working-day delivery, nothing arrives as a surprise line item. A real clinician reads your consultation the same day, not software, not a queue.

If your order is placed before 12pm Monday to Friday and is clinically approved, it's dispatched the same day. What shows up is a plain, unbranded box via DPD with a tracking link, inside, your KwikPen, ready to go into the fridge. Our prescribing team is available seven days a week if you have questions. Every repeat order is reviewed again before it's processed; there's no auto-renewal.

You can see current treatment pricing on our consultation and treatment page. We don't publish per-pen prices in copy because the right figure depends on your clinical position, which is confirmed at consultation.

Step 4, why the cheapest listing is the wrong place to start

Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine. The MHRA has been unambiguous on this: it cannot legally be supplied without a prescription following clinical assessment, and the regulator has repeatedly warned about counterfeit pens circulating online. In October 2025, the first illicit UK manufacturing site producing fake tirzepatide pens was raided, and the MHRA's enforcement teams have seized approximately 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines worth around £45 million.

Sellers offering 5mg Mounjaro without a clinical consultation, via social media, or at prices that are dramatically below the market range are red flags, not bargains. The MHRA's Yellow Card scheme lets you report suspect sellers directly. For the same reason, price is the wrong axis on which to compare legitimate providers: clinical oversight, verified supply chains and genuine aftercare are what you're actually buying.

If you're moving to 5mg from the 2.5mg starter pen, or transferring from another provider, our FAQs cover how the clinical re-review process works. And if you want to understand how 5mg fits into the broader dose pathway, if you're also weighing up the next step, our page on how much 15mg Mounjaro costs sets out what the higher end of the schedule looks like, while the 10mg dose page sets out what typically follows. If you want to make sure you're getting fair value wherever you go, our guide to finding the cheapest Mounjaro supplier in the UK explains what to look for beyond the headline number. NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026) and the NHS medicines page for tirzepatide are both worth reading before you start.
