Choosing and cleaning your injection site

Semaglutide is a subcutaneous injection, meaning it goes into the layer of fat just beneath the skin rather than into muscle. Three sites are licensed: the belly (at least two finger-widths away from the navel), the front or outer thigh, and the back of the upper arm. The upper arm is harder to self-inject comfortably; most people settle into a rotation between abdomen and thigh, swapping the specific spot each week to avoid tissue thickening over time.
