Wegovy follows a stepped titration: the starting dose is 0.25 mg per week, held for roughly four weeks while your system adjusts, then your prescriber moves you through 0.5 mg, 1.0 mg and 1.7 mg before reaching the 2.4 mg maintenance dose. Choosing your injection day and building a routine

Because Wegovy is weekly, the practical decision is simpler than people expect: pick one day, pick a time within that day that you can reliably repeat, and stick to it. Some people attach it to a regular weekly event — a Monday morning before the school run, a Sunday evening after a walk. The pen does not need to be taken at the same hour to the minute, but the same-day rhythm matters.

Storage is worth thinking through early. Wegovy pens are refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C; a slot in the fridge door works well, away from the freezer section where temperatures can dip too low. Who decides whether Wegovy's weekly injection is right for you

Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine. No amount of reading a schedule can substitute for a clinical assessment. The prescriber reviews your BMI, your weight-related health conditions, your current medicines, and other relevant factors before deciding whether semaglutide is appropriate and at what starting dose.

The licensed eligibility thresholds are a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI from 27 upward alongside at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or obstructive sleep apnoea.
