Step 2: checking whether you are likely to be eligible

The UK licence covers adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above alongside at least one weight-related health condition. Conditions that count include type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and obstructive sleep apnoea, among others. For some ethnic backgrounds, the relevant BMI thresholds are 2.5 kg/m² lower under UK clinical guidance — your prescriber will apply the correct figure at assessment.
