Mounjaro®
Starting from £179.99/mo
Start journey Learn moreYou can get Mounjaro online in the UK legally, but only through a prescription issued after a clinical assessment — not by adding it to a basket like a vitamin supplement. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a Prescription-Only Medicine, which means a qualified prescriber must review your health before it can be dispensed. That process can happen entirely online, quickly and safely, through a GPhC-registered online pharmacy like nume. The distinction matters because a growing number of sellers are offering tirzepatide pens without any clinical assessment, and the MHRA has made clear the risks of that route are serious.

A question our prescribers hear most weeks is some version of: "Can I just order Mounjaro online without seeing a doctor?" It is an entirely reasonable thing to wonder, given how many websites make the process look like an ordinary e-commerce transaction. The honest answer is no, and the reason is not bureaucratic gatekeeping but patient safety.
Under UK law, tirzepatide is a Prescription-Only Medicine. That legal status exists because the medicine requires clinical assessment: your weight, medical history, current medications and any contraindications all need to be reviewed before a prescriber can lawfully issue a prescription. Reputable online pharmacies complete that assessment remotely, making the experience fast and convenient, but they do not bypass it. A seller who appears to be offering Mounjaro without that step is operating outside UK law.
The MHRA has repeatedly warned about counterfeit and illegally sold weight-loss pens circulating online and via social media. In October 2025, the first illicit UK manufacturing site producing fake tirzepatide pens was raided. Fake pens have in some cases contained insulin rather than tirzepatide, a potentially life-threatening substitution. If you see prices that look implausibly low, sellers operating through social-media DMs, or listings with no mention of a prescription, treat those as serious red flags. You can report a suspect seller through the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme.
The legal online route is straightforward once you know the shape of it. You complete a clinical questionnaire; a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers and medical details (in person, not by algorithm) and decides whether Mounjaro is appropriate for you. If it is, a prescription is issued, your identity and current weight are verified, and your medication is dispensed from a pharmacy operating within the licensed UK supply chain.
At nume, that review happens the same day. Orders placed before midday Monday to Friday, once clinically approved, are dispatched the same day and delivered free the next working day by DPD, in plain packaging. Every repeat order goes through the same clinical review, there is no auto-renewal, no subscription, no medication sent without a prescriber looking at your case again. You can read about how online prescribing for Mounjaro works if you want a fuller picture of the process.
To verify any online pharmacy before you use it, check the GPhC pharmacy register using the pharmacy's name or registration number. This takes about thirty seconds and is the single most reliable way to distinguish a legitimate service from an unlicensed one. nume's GPhC premises registration number is 9012878.
Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 and above with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea or type 2 diabetes. Lower BMI thresholds apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance. A BMI that meets the licence criteria does not automatically mean a prescriber will approve treatment, the whole clinical picture matters, including any medicines you already take.
The evidence base is substantial. SURMOUNT-1, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, followed 2,539 adults over 72 weeks and found average weight reductions of around 20–21% at the 15 mg dose. NICE assessed that evidence and recommended tirzepatide in December 2024 (TA1026). The medicine is also the only dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist licensed for this purpose in the UK, it works on two gut-hormone pathways rather than one, which is why its results profile differs from older GLP-1 treatments. If you are weighing up which treatment might suit you, the weight-loss treatments page sets out the options.
Treatment starts at 2.5 mg, a dose that exists to let your system adjust rather than to produce immediate weight loss. Dose changes are managed by the prescriber based on how you respond. Common side effects are gastrointestinal (nausea, loose stools, constipation, burping) typically most noticeable in the first few weeks or after a dose step up, and often settling as the body adapts. The NHS tirzepatide page covers the full side-effect profile in plain language.
Private Mounjaro prices in the UK rose significantly from September 2025 when Eli Lilly increased the list price of the higher doses, the 15 mg pen's list price moved from around £122 to around £330, and typical private market prices now range from roughly £149 to £375 per month depending on the dose and provider. Those figures are widely reported and worth knowing as context, but a headline price on its own tells you very little about what you are actually getting.
Some services charge separately for the consultation, the prescription, the delivery and any clinical aftercare; others include everything. Cheaper does not mean worse, but it sometimes means less. For a prescription medicine with a real supply-chain counterfeit problem, the more useful questions are: who is reviewing my prescription, can I verify the pharmacy on the GPhC register, and what happens if I have a concern after my medication arrives? A brief read of the pharmacies selling Mounjaro online guide covers what to check.
nume's pricing is one transparent figure that includes the consultation, prescription, medication, delivery and 7-day-a-week aftercare. We are not the cheapest option, that is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. Some patients also ask whether oral tirzepatide is available online, and that page explains what is currently accessible through legitimate UK services. For context on what Mounjaro costs across different routes, that page explains the full picture. When you are ready to talk to a prescriber, the process starts with a free consultation at our online chemist for Mounjaro, where the full clinical pathway is explained before you commit to anything.
