The Mounjaro Price Freeze: What UK Private Patients Actually Need to Know

Free clinical consultation, reviewed the same day by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber
Prescription included, with photo-ID and live weight verification at every stage
Free next-working-day tracked delivery by DPD, in plain unbranded packaging
Priority aftercare seven days a week, with a clinical re-review before every repeat order

There is no active Mounjaro price freeze in the UK private market. From 1 September 2025, Eli Lilly raised the list price of Mounjaro significantly, with widely reported figures suggesting the highest-dose pen moved from around £122 to around £330. Private providers set their own fees above that, so what you pay today reflects those higher costs. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine; a clinician reviews your suitability before any supply is authorised.

How Mounjaro is priced privately in the UK, and what a freeze would actually change

Step 1: Understand how UK private Mounjaro pricing actually works

Private Mounjaro pricing has two layers. First, the manufacturer list price — the wholesale cost Eli Lilly charges UK suppliers. Second, the provider margin, which covers consultation, clinical review, prescription, dispensing, delivery and aftercare. When Lilly raised list prices from September 2025, that first layer shifted substantially. Reported figures put typical private prices somewhere between £149 and £375 a month depending on dose and provider, though exact figures vary and change. You can read more about those movements on our Mounjaro price increase page.

A "price freeze" in this context would mean either Lilly holding its list price or providers choosing not to pass increases on. Neither has been announced. What that means practically: if you are comparing providers, the headline monthly figure is only part of the story, and the gap between providers tends to narrow once you account for what each includes.

Mounjaro comes as a KwikPen, and if you want a fuller picture of the treatment itself, our Mounjaro overview page covers how it works, who it is suitable for, and what to expect. UK strengths run from 2.5mg up to 15mg. Treatment begins at 2.5mg to let your system adjust, then the prescriber titrates upward. The per-pen cost shifts with each strength, which is part of why total monthly spend can look very different at the start of treatment versus six months in.

Step 2: Work out what a headline price actually includes

This is where private Mounjaro costs diverge most. Some providers quote a medicine-only price; consultation, prescription, and delivery fees sit alongside it, charged separately. Others bundle everything. The difference between those two models can be £30 to £60 or more per order once all the line items are added.

Common extras to check for: initial consultation fee, prescription fee, delivery charge (especially for tracked cold-chain shipping), and ongoing clinical support. Dose-increase assessments and repeat-order reviews sometimes carry their own charge too. The full Mounjaro cost breakdown covers those variables in more detail.

It is also worth asking whether a provider does a genuine clinical review at each repeat or whether they auto-renew. For a prescription medicine, an automatic renewal with no clinical reassessment is a red flag, not a convenience. The NHS has published guidance on what safe supply of weight management injections should look like — the NHS England weight management injections page is worth a read before you commit to any provider.

Step 3: See what a single transparent price actually buys you

At nume, one price covers everything: consultation, prescription, treatment, and free next-working-day delivery. No separate line items, no subscription, no auto-renewal. A real clinician, not a piece of software, reads your consultation the same day. If it is clinically appropriate, your order is dispatched the same day on orders placed before noon Monday to Friday. Payday orders, early-week orders, orders before a bank holiday, the same commitment applies, though we will always flag any courier delays around public holidays in advance.

We are not the cheapest provider. That is a deliberate choice. The cost of a GPhC-registered dispensing pharmacy, genuine supply chain relationships with Eli Lilly, and live weight verification before every order has to come from somewhere. Our about us page sets out exactly what is behind the service, and you can verify our pharmacy on the GPhC register, number 9012878.

If you want to understand how our 5mg pen pricing sits within the wider market, you can find that context, including comparisons with other doses and providers, on our Mounjaro 5mg price page.

Step 4: Ask the right question before price becomes the deciding factor

For a prescription-only medicine, cheapest is not the right test. The MHRA has warned repeatedly about counterfeit weight-loss pens, fake tirzepatide products have been seized from unlicensed UK manufacturing sites, and fake pens sold online have contained the wrong active substance entirely. The question to ask of any provider is not "is this the lowest price" but "can I verify this pharmacy on the GPhC register, does a prescriber personally review my suitability, and is the supply chain licensed and traceable".

NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide, TA1026, sets out what appropriate clinical oversight of this medicine looks like. That standard does not change because a provider's website shows a lower monthly figure. A small saving on one order is not worth more than the safety infrastructure behind the supply. If you have questions about what to look for, our FAQs cover the most common ones, or you can get in touch directly.

The most useful next step is a free consultation with our prescribers, who can assess whether Mounjaro is clinically suitable for you and explain the full cost before you commit to anything. Check your eligibility and start that conversation today.
