Mounjaro®
Starting from £179.99/mo
Start journey Learn moreOn 1 September 2025, Eli Lilly raised the UK list price of Mounjaro, with the highest-dose pen reportedly rising from around £122 to around £330 per four-week supply. That shift — widely reported in August 2025 — changed the landscape of private weight-loss treatment in the UK almost overnight. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, which means it can only be supplied legally following a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. The price you pay a private clinic or pharmacy covers far more than the pen itself; understanding what sits behind any quoted figure is the only way to compare like with like.

The price Eli Lilly charges as a UK wholesale list price is the floor on which private pharmacies build their own figures. Before 1 September 2025, the cost structure heading into that date was already being discussed widely, because Lilly had signalled the change in advance. When the increase landed, the highest-dose pen moved from roughly £122 to around £330, as widely reported. Lower doses did not move by the same proportion, but the overall direction was clear: the era of sub-£150 Mounjaro across most dose levels was ending.
For patients already on treatment, the practical question was whether their current provider's price would track the list-price change immediately, partially, or with a lag. For new patients researching options, the headline figures cited in press coverage for months were no longer accurate once the Mounjaro price rise of September 2025 took effect. You can read a detailed breakdown of how September 2025 private prices settled across providers if you want the fuller market picture.
The most useful frame: the list-price change is an upstream cost, and any private price you're quoted should be understood as covering the medicine plus the clinical infrastructure around it, or not, as the case may be.
A question our prescribers hear most weeks is some version of: "I've seen a price online that's much lower, why?" The answer is almost always in what that price excludes. Across the private market, some providers quote the pen price alone and add consultation fees, prescription charges and delivery costs at checkout. Others include some but not all of those elements. Aftercare (what happens when you have a question between doses, or need a dose reviewed) is frequently absent from budget listings entirely.
On our full Mounjaro pricing page we explain each component that legitimately forms part of the cost. The September list-price rise made this unpacking more important, not less, because it compressed margins at the low end of the market. Providers competing purely on headline price after September 2025 faced a genuine tension between their stated figure and the cost of running safe clinical oversight.
Relevant context from NHS England's guidance on weight-management injections: wraparound clinical support (dietary guidance, regular review, clear escalation routes) is considered part of responsible treatment, not an optional extra. That support has a cost, and that cost has to sit somewhere in the price.
The most reliable way to compare providers is to build a full cost picture before you commit. Ask: is the consultation fee included? Is the prescription included? Is delivery free? What does aftercare look like, and is there a charge for contacting the clinical team? Are dose reviews priced separately? For a medicine titrated through multiple strengths over months, the answer to that last question matters considerably.
At nume, one transparent price covers the consultation, the prescription, the treatment, next-working-day tracked delivery via DPD, and seven-day aftercare. We are not the cheapest provider in the UK market, that is a deliberate position. The Mounjaro price increase in September made the economics of low-headline pricing harder to sustain safely, and we'd rather be honest about what good clinical oversight costs than shave the number and cut what sits behind it. Current treatment pricing is shown on our treatment page, where you can also start your free consultation.
Every repeat order at nume goes back through a clinical review before dispatch, there are no auto-renewals, no silent rollovers. That review is what NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026) implicitly supports: continued prescribing is contingent on clinical benefit being demonstrated, not on a standing order.
Mounjaro is a Black Triangle prescription-only medicine, meaning it carries additional MHRA monitoring requirements and must only be supplied following a formal clinical assessment. The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold through social-media channels and unverified websites, fake pens that in some cases contained insulin. If you are weighing up your options, understanding how much Mounjaro will cost in September is a more useful starting point than simply searching for the lowest figure available.
Any legitimate UK pharmacy dispensing Mounjaro can be verified on the GPhC pharmacy register, nume's premises registration number is 9012878. If a seller cannot be found there, the medicine they're offering should not be trusted regardless of the price. A small saving against a legitimate provider's post-September price is not a meaningful trade when the alternative carries the counterfeit risk the MHRA has documented.
