Mounjaro's UK list price rose significantly from 1 September 2025. Eli Lilly increased the wholesale price across all doses, with the highest-dose pen rising from around £122 to around £330 — changes that filtered through to private prescription providers across the country. If you've been watching prices and wondering whether there's a version of Mounjaro that escaped the increase, the short answer is: no. These are changes that affected the whole UK market. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, which means every legitimate supply route requires a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber before a single pen is dispensed. What varies between providers is not whether you pay more, it's what you actually get for that price.

The honest picture on Mounjaro pricing, and what to look for beyond the headline figure

Did the Mounjaro price increase apply everywhere in the UK?

Yes. Eli Lilly revised its UK wholesale pricing from 1 September 2025, and because private providers buy through the licensed supply chain, those changes were absorbed across the board. The reported figures (around £330 per pen at the highest dose, up from roughly £122) have been widely covered and are consistent with what independent pharmacies and online clinics are now paying at source. There is no back-channel supplier offering pre-increase stock. Anyone advertising Mounjaro at significantly lower prices deserves scrutiny.

Prices vary by dose. The 2.5mg starter dose sits at a lower price point than maintenance doses, and the 5mg pen sits somewhere in between. But the proportional increases affected every strength. If you want to understand why Eli Lilly made this change and what it means for ongoing access, that context matters, especially if you're budgeting for treatment over several months.

One more thing worth saying plainly: Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine. A price that looks attractive because it skips the prescriber, the clinical check or the regulated pharmacy isn't a deal, it's a risk. The GPhC's online register lets you verify any pharmacy in seconds. Worth checking before you hand over payment details.

What do headline Mounjaro prices typically leave out?

You've probably seen monthly figures quoted across different sites and wondered why they differ so much. Some of that variation is dose. But some of it is what the number actually includes, or doesn't.

A headline price that covers only the pen itself will look lower than one that bundles in the consultation, the prescription charge, delivery and clinical monitoring. Add those separately and the gap narrows, or disappears. Delivery charges are a common omission: some providers charge for tracked, temperature-appropriate shipping, which is not a trivial consideration for a medicine that needs refrigeration in transit.

Aftercare is another variable. Some providers charge for follow-up appointments, dose-review support or urgent queries. If something doesn't feel right two weeks into treatment, knowing there's clinical support on the other end (included, not billed separately) has a real value that doesn't appear in a per-pen comparison. For a fuller picture of how the cost of Mounjaro has shifted across dose levels and what that means month-to-month, it helps to think in total treatment cost rather than a single pen price.

Our prescribers hear this often: people who chose the cheapest option first and then came to us after a difficult experience they didn't feel able to raise with anyone. That's not a sales point. It's just what happens when aftercare is an afterthought.

Where does nume sit on Mounjaro pricing?

We are not the cheapest option available in the UK, and we made that choice deliberately. Our pricing reflects what we've decided to include rather than exclude. One price covers the consultation, the prescription, the medicine itself, free next-working-day tracked delivery via DPD, and 7-day-a-week aftercare. Nothing is withheld to be sold back to you later. There are no subscription commitments, no auto-renewals, if you want a repeat, it's requested, clinically reviewed again and dispatched if appropriate.

If you'd like a clear breakdown of what Mounjaro costs at each dose and what that figure covers, our treatments page sets it out without the small print surprises. We don't print per-pen prices in body copy, partly because doses change as treatment progresses and partly because a price without the clinical context it sits inside isn't particularly useful. What we can say is that the figure you see there is the figure you pay.

The clinical side is run by our own GPhC-registered pharmacy (registration number 9012878, verifiable at the GPhC register) and overseen by our clinical team. Every consultation is reviewed by a named prescriber. That structure has a cost. We think it's the right one to pass on.

Is 'cheapest' really the right question to ask about a prescription medicine?

For most purchases, price is a reasonable starting point. For a prescription-only medicine that affects how your body processes appetite, gastric emptying and blood glucose, it's probably the wrong first question. The better questions are: Is this genuine Mounjaro, sourced through the authorised UK supply chain? Is a qualified clinician reviewing my health before and during treatment? Is there someone I can reach if I have concerns?

The MHRA has flagged fake weight-loss pens (including counterfeit tirzepatide) as a growing enforcement problem, with reports submitted through the Yellow Card scheme helping to track suspect sellers. Prices far below the post-September 2025 market rate are one of the clearest red flags. So is any seller offering Mounjaro without a clinical assessment from a prescriber, that is not a legitimate route.

If you'd like to explore whether Mounjaro is clinically suitable for you, and see exactly what's included in our pricing, the most straightforward next step is a free consultation. There's no commitment to proceed, and a prescriber will review your answers the same day.
