Start journey Learn moreIf you're already on semaglutide and considering a different supplier for Wegovy, the clinical evidence is clear on one thing: continuity of dose, pen format and clinical oversight matters more than the price difference between providers. Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine; switching supplier means undergoing a fresh clinical assessment, verifying your current dose, and confirming the supply chain is fully legitimate. At nume, every transfer patient is reviewed personally by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber before a prescription is issued, with no auto-approval and no shortcuts.

NICE recommended semaglutide (Wegovy) for weight management in TA875, published in March 2023. The recommendation rests on evidence from STEP 1 (a 68-week trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine) in which participants on 2.4mg semaglutide lost around 15% of body weight on average, against roughly 2.4% for placebo. Those figures sit behind every legitimate Wegovy prescription in the UK, and they come from a tightly controlled titration schedule: 0.25mg rising to 2.4mg over about five months, with the prescriber deciding pace.
That schedule is the reason supplier switches are not the same as, say, switching broadband. If a new provider either restarts your dose from scratch without clinical justification, or skips verification of where you currently are, neither approach is safe. Deciding whether to switch at all is the first question worth answering carefully, before logistics become the focus.
NICE's guidance also specifies that treatment should be reviewed if fewer than 5% of body weight is lost after six months at the highest tolerated dose. A reputable supplier will check this; one that simply posts pens without a clinical conversation cannot.
The honest comparison between private Wegovy suppliers in the UK is less about the medicine itself (which is the same Novo Nordisk product regardless of where you buy it) and more about the clinical infrastructure around it. The table below sets out the service dimensions that actually affect your safety and results.
| Feature | What to look for | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| Clinical review | Named GPhC-registered prescriber reads your answers before every prescription | Automated approval, no prescriber named |
| Transfer verification | Evidence of current dose requested; dose confirmed before issuing | Any dose issued without proof of prior treatment |
| Supply chain | Licensed UK supply chain; pharmacy verifiable on the GPhC register | No GPhC registration, overseas supply, suspiciously low price |
| Aftercare | 7-day clinical support; prescriber accessible if side effects occur | No contact route post-purchase |
| Pricing transparency | One price that includes consultation, prescription and delivery | Headline pen price with separate fees added at checkout |
You can verify any online pharmacy on the GPhC register in under a minute. For nume specifically, the premises registration number is 9012878. It is worth doing this check for any provider you are considering, the MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens circulating online, some of which have contained insulin rather than semaglutide. If a supplier is not on the register, stop there.
Cost context: since Eli Lilly's September 2025 list-price change for Mounjaro, private semaglutide prices have ranged roughly £149–£375 per month across providers by dose and service level. A guide to Wegovy pricing in the UK covers this in more detail. The short version: the cheapest listing isn't the right test for a prescription medicine.
One thing that changes the supplier comparison in 2025 and 2026 is Wegovy's expanding format options. The MHRA approved a dedicated single-dose 7.2mg pen on 14 April 2026 (one pre-set weekly injection, auto-dosing, with a covered needle) for adults with a BMI of 30 or above. Separately, on 11 June 2026, the MHRA approved the first oral GLP-1 medicine licensed for weight management in the UK: the Wegovy tablet, starting at 1.5mg and titrating to a 25mg maintenance dose.
If you are currently on 2.4mg injections and want to switch both supplier and format (to oral, say), that is two changes happening simultaneously, and the clinical picture becomes more complex. The practical process of switching to Wegovy and what the transition involves clinically are both covered in detail. The short answer is that a prescriber needs to assess both decisions together (format, dose and timing) not just sign off a delivery address change.
Not every supplier stocks every format. At nume, what is available at your dose is confirmed at consultation; we don't promise specific pen formats in advance of that conversation. What we do promise is that if your current dose and format are clinically appropriate, the prescription reflects that, not a default to the easiest thing to dispatch that day. Order before 12pm on a working day and, once approved, your treatment goes out the same day.
A note worth including on any supplier-comparison page: Ozempic is also semaglutide, but it is licensed in the UK for type 2 diabetes, not weight management. As a direct comparison of Wegovy and Ozempic sets out, no legitimate UK pharmacy should supply Ozempic for weight loss; if a supplier is offering it for that purpose, that is itself a compliance failure. Similarly, Rybelsus tablets (3mg, 7mg, 14mg) are the diabetes-licensed oral semaglutide, not a step on the Wegovy tablet titration ladder. The two products share an active ingredient; they do not share a licence.
When you switch Wegovy supplier, make sure the product on the prescription is Wegovy, not a workaround. Reputable providers are clear about this. Ours are. Our clinical team reviews every prescription against the licensed indication before it is issued, and a prescriber's name is always attached to your treatment record. That is not a process detail, it is the whole point.
Which formulation or dose suits your situation is a clinical decision our prescribers make with you, based on your history, your current dose and your goals. If you are also thinking about nutritional support alongside your treatment, our guide to the best supplements for Wegovy covers what is worth considering and what the evidence actually says.
