Side effects: does moving from 0.25mg to 0.5mg make them worse?

For many people, yes, temporarily. Gastrointestinal effects (nausea, loose stools, constipation, indigestion, burping) can flare again after a dose increase, just as they did at the start. This is expected and generally settles within a week or two as the body adjusts to the new level.

Eligibility: who can move between these doses, and when

Both doses are part of the same licensed Wegovy weight-management course, available to adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 and above alongside at least one weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or type 2 diabetes. Lower BMI thresholds can apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance.
