Start journey Learn moreThe 0.25mg dose of Wegovy is the starting point prescribed to all new patients — not the maintenance dose, and not the dose linked to the weight-loss results you may have read about. In private practice, UK pricing for Wegovy is set per pen per month and varies by dose and provider; the 0.25mg starting pen is typically at the lower end of the private price range precisely because it is the lowest-strength option in the titration schedule. These are prescription-only medicines under UK law, which means a clinical assessment by a registered prescriber must happen before any supply — the price you see from any legitimate provider has to reflect that clinical step, even if it is not always listed separately.

NICE recommended semaglutide (Wegovy) for weight management in March 2023, under guidance TA875. The titration schedule established in the clinical programme begins at 0.25mg weekly, stepping up through 0.5mg, 1.0mg and 1.7mg before reaching the 2.4mg maintenance dose. The STEP 1 trial, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, reported an average body-weight reduction of around 15% over 68 weeks, at the 2.4mg maintenance dose, not at 0.25mg.
That distinction matters when you are comparing prices. The 0.25mg pen is a tolerability step: its job is to let your system adjust before the dose rises. Patients who remain on it long-term are not experiencing the treatment at its intended therapeutic level. A provider quoting an attractive headline price at 0.25mg without making that clear is answering a question you probably were not asking. You can read more about how Wegovy works across the full titration on our Wegovy overview page.
The MHRA-approved maintenance dose has now been extended to 7.2mg for eligible patients, approved in April 2026, narrowing the gap with tirzepatide results, so the full price picture for sustained treatment runs considerably further than the starting pen.
Private Wegovy pricing in the UK has shifted since Eli Lilly's list-price increase in September 2025 moved tirzepatide costs sharply upward, and Novo Nordisk's own pricing has adjusted alongside broader market pressures. Reported private monthly prices across providers typically range from roughly £149 to £375, varying by dose and service, though if you want to understand exactly what the Wegovy 0.25mg price looks like across the market, it sits below that range for most providers.
What those headline figures frequently exclude: a separate consultation fee, a prescription charge billed per item, delivery costs (often £5–£10 per order), and any ongoing dose-review support. Add those together across a six-month titration and the apparent saving at the 0.25mg entry point can disappear. If you want a fuller picture of what Wegovy 0.25mg actually costs once those extras are factored in, that breakdown is worth reading before comparing providers. If you are weighing up costs across providers, the full guide to Wegovy pricing in the UK breaks down what to look for in a like-for-like comparison.
A related question our prescribers hear regularly: whether discount codes bring the price down further. They do not, from regulated providers. For a prescription medicine supplied through a licensed pharmacy, a discount code is a red flag rather than a saving, and there are no such codes at nume. What IS included is addressed directly below.
At nume, the price you see for your starting Wegovy pen covers the clinical consultation, the prescription, the medicine and free next-working-day delivery. There are no add-ons. Your pen arrives by DPD the following working day, trackable on your phone, in a plain box with nothing on the outside to indicate what is inside.
We are not the cheapest option in the UK market. That is a deliberate choice. A clinical service built on same-day personal review by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber, photo-ID verification, live weight check and 7-day aftercare costs more to run than an algorithm and a fulfilment warehouse. The question worth asking is not which provider charges least at 0.25mg, but which provider will still be reviewing your case properly at 1.0mg and 2.4mg when the treatment is actually working.
You can verify that our pharmacy is GPhC-registered at registration number 9012878 on the GPhC register. Our about page explains the clinical infrastructure behind every order, and our clinical team profile names the prescribers who review your case.
The MHRA has issued repeated warnings about fake weight-loss pens sold online, including counterfeit semaglutide products with falsified labelling. In October 2025, enforcement operations uncovered the first known UK site manufacturing counterfeit tirzepatide pens. Suspect products have contained incorrect active ingredients, in some cases, insulin. You can report a suspect seller directly to the MHRA via Yellow Card.
For a prescription-only medicine like Wegovy, the metric that protects you is not the price, it is whether the clinical review is real, whether the pharmacy is on the GPhC register, and whether the medicine comes through the licensed UK supply chain. A price substantially below the market range for a dose that has not been clinically assessed answers none of those questions.
If you are ready to find out whether Wegovy is suitable for you at any dose, the right place to start is a proper clinical assessment. Our FAQs page covers common questions about eligibility and the consultation process, and our weight-loss treatment overview sets out the options a prescriber might consider. For the specific cost context at other doses in the titration, the 0.5mg price guide and the 5mg dose price context are worth reading alongside this page.
