Start journey Learn moreThe cheapest Wegovy listing you find online is rarely the full cost of treatment. In the UK, Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine — no pharmacy, online or otherwise, can legally supply it without a prescriber first assessing whether it is right for you. Private prices vary by dose and provider, typically somewhere in the range of £150 to £375 a month, but what sits behind that headline number differs enormously. This page explains how UK private pricing works, what those numbers often leave out, and why the lowest figure is the wrong place to start your search.

Search for Wegovy's cost in the UK and you will find a spread of figures. The assumption most people make (understandably) is that the lowest one wins. That is the myth worth correcting first. Private weight-loss treatment through a UK pharmacy involves several components: a clinical consultation, a prescription, the medicine itself, delivery and, where it is provided, ongoing clinical support. Some services bundle all of this into a single transparent charge. Others price the medicine alone and add the rest at checkout, or charge a separate monthly membership fee, or bill per consultation on top.
A question our prescribers hear most weeks is some version of: "I found Wegovy for £X somewhere else, why is your price different?" The honest answer is that the comparison is rarely like-for-like. You can read more about what drives the variation on our Wegovy pricing overview, but the short version is this: a price that covers only the pen tells you very little about the real cost of a safe, clinically supervised course of treatment.
Eli Lilly's widely reported list-price increase for Mounjaro in September 2025 brought renewed attention to GLP-1 medicine costs across the market; Wegovy has seen similar pressure. Private providers have absorbed or passed on those changes in different ways, which is another reason the same dose can carry a different price tag depending on where you look.
It is worth being specific about what a headline price for Wegovy can omit, because the gaps matter financially. Consultation fees (sometimes £20 to £50 per appointment) may be charged separately, particularly if the initial quote covers the pen only. Prescription fees, where they exist, add another layer. Delivery charges on temperature-sensitive medicines can surprise people at checkout. And aftercare (the clinical check-in before your next dose is approved) is not universally included; some services charge per review or gate access behind a paid plan.
None of this is hidden in the small print to deceive you. It reflects genuinely different service models. But it does mean that comparing Wegovy costs across UK providers requires adding up the full picture. Our guide to Wegovy prices across the UK breaks that down dose by dose so you can see what a comparable course actually costs.
There is also a safety dimension worth naming plainly. The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online and through social media, with around 20 million doses of illegally traded medicines (worth approximately £45 million) seized in enforcement action through 2025. Fake pens have been found to contain insulin rather than semaglutide. Any seller offering Wegovy without a valid prescription and clinical assessment is a red flag regardless of price. You can verify any UK online pharmacy on the GPhC register before parting with money.
At nume, one price covers everything: the clinical consultation, the prescription, the medicine, next-working-day tracked DPD delivery and ongoing prescriber support, seven days a week. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal. Every repeat order is clinically re-reviewed before it is approved, your next pen is not sent automatically. We lose the price comparison on purpose. Our view, and the view of our clinical team, is that for a prescription-only medicine the service wrapped around it matters as much as the medicine itself.
That is not a dismissal of cost. We understand it is a real consideration. If you want to understand how our pricing sits relative to the private market, the cheapest Wegovy UK page gives you an honest picture. If you are mid-treatment and looking at the 1mg dose specifically, this page covers that dose tier. And if you came here wondering whether there is a discount code that unlocks a lower price, our dedicated page on finding the cheapest Wegovy in the UK explains why promotional pricing on prescription medicines is a red flag rather than a saving. nume does not run discount codes, vouchers or promotional pricing on any medicine. That is a deliberate decision, not an oversight.
Wegovy is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above alongside a weight-related health condition, as confirmed by NICE guidance and the NHS's semaglutide information. It is a GLP-1 receptor agonist taken once weekly by injection, with doses titrated by your prescriber over several months. The full Wegovy treatment guide covers how it works in detail. The point here is that treatment spans months, and clinical oversight across that period (dose adjustments, side-effect management, re-assessments) has genuine value.
Price is not irrelevant. But for a prescription medicine, the right question is not "who is cheapest?" but "who provides safe, genuine supply with clinical oversight I can trust?" Those two questions occasionally have the same answer. More often, they do not. If you are ready to find out whether Wegovy is clinically appropriate for you, a free consultation with our prescribers is where that starts. There is no charge to apply and no obligation. Suitability is assessed clinically, not assumed. You can also browse the wider range of weight-loss treatment options we offer if you want to compare before deciding.
