Which route is right for you: NHS or private?

Wegovy is available on the NHS, but only through specialist weight management services and only for patients who meet the criteria set out in NICE's appraisal TA875. Those criteria include a BMI of 35 or above, at least one weight-related health condition, and a place in a multidisciplinary specialist programme. The MHRA asks anyone who comes across a suspect seller to report them through the Yellow Card scheme.

The check itself takes less than a minute. Every legitimate online pharmacy in Great Britain must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Whether you meet the eligibility criteria for Wegovy

Wegovy is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above where at least one weight-related condition is present, for example, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, or obstructive sleep apnoea. For some ethnic backgrounds, UK guidance applies thresholds that are 2.5 kg/m² lower; your prescriber will take that into account. BMI alone is never the whole picture. A prescriber will also look at your medical history, any medicines you take, and whether there are any reasons Wegovy would not be suitable for you.
