Start journey Learn moreThe cost of Wegovy pills in the UK sits within the broader private prescription market for weight-loss medicines, where monthly prices vary by provider and dose tier. As a prescription-only medicine, oral semaglutide requires a clinical assessment before it can be prescribed — so any legitimate price you see includes, or should include, that clinical step. The MHRA approved Wegovy tablets on 11 June 2026, making them the first oral GLP-1 medicine licensed for weight management in the UK, and private prescriptions are currently the only route: there is no NHS funding in place, and a NICE appraisal would need to come first. If you're weighing up the numbers right now and finding it hard to get a straight answer, that's entirely understandable — pricing across the sector is rarely presented plainly.

Oral semaglutide is too new for a settled market rate to have established itself fully, but the structure of private GLP-1 pricing in the UK is well understood. Treatment is priced per monthly supply, and prices shift upward with each dose step, the 1.5 mg starting tablets and the 25 mg maintenance tablets do not carry the same cost. For context, the injectable Wegovy and Mounjaro pens have ranged roughly £149–£375 per month across providers since Eli Lilly's list-price revision in September 2025, as widely reported at the time. Oral semaglutide sits within that broader landscape; exact figures from any given provider should be read alongside what the price actually covers.
The licensed titration schedule runs from 1.5 mg upward through 4 mg and 9 mg to the 25 mg maintenance dose, with at least a month spent at each level. That means what you pay in month one will differ from what you pay at maintenance. Any quoted price for a single month is therefore a snapshot, not the whole picture, and the full semaglutide tablet journey involves several of those steps before the maintenance dose is reached.
Current treatment pricing for Wegovy tablets through nume is shown on our treatment page, where it sits alongside everything else that is included, no separate line items.
A low headline figure for any prescription weight-loss medicine tends to be a per-unit price that excludes several real costs. Consultation fees are the most common omission: some providers charge separately for the clinical assessment that a prescriber is legally required to carry out before issuing a prescription. Prescription fees can be a further charge. Delivery (for a temperature-sensitive or tracked parcel) often appears at checkout rather than in the advertised price. And aftercare, meaning access to clinical support once treatment has started, is sometimes tiered or charged additionally.
For a medicine taken daily and titrated over several months, those additions accumulate. The oral Wegovy cost breakdown is worth reading if you want to understand exactly what categories of cost to ask about before committing to any provider. The honest summary: a £X/month figure means very little without knowing what it includes.
Worth checking, too, whether any quoted price applies to the starting dose or the maintenance dose, they are not the same, and some providers advertise the lower entry-point figure prominently. If you want a clearer picture of how dose steps affect your outlay, our page on what Wegovy pills price looks like across the titration schedule sets that out in detail.
One transparent price. That is the short version. Our pricing covers the free clinical consultation, the prescription, the treatment itself, and free next-working-day tracked delivery through DPD. Aftercare from our clinical team is available seven days a week. There are no subscriptions and no auto-renewals: every repeat order is reviewed by a prescriber before it is processed. If you are not clinically suitable, you will not be approved, and there is no charge for that outcome.
We are not the cheapest option in the market, and that is a deliberate position. The cost of the Wegovy pill format from a given provider reflects their infrastructure, their clinical model and what they include. Ours includes a GPhC-registered pharmacist-led service, same-day clinical review by a named prescriber (never automated decision-making), photo-ID verification, live weight verification by video, and GP notification in line with GPhC guidance. Those safeguards have a cost. We think it is the right one to carry.
You can read more about how our clinical team approaches prescribing on the clinical team page, and our about us page sets out the pharmacy credentials, including our GPhC premises registration, which you can verify independently at the GPhC register.
For most purchases, price is a fair proxy for value. For a prescription-only medicine (particularly one approved only months ago, in a market the MHRA has flagged for counterfeit activity) it is the wrong test entirely. The MHRA has warned publicly and repeatedly about fake weight-loss pens sold through social media and informal channels; discount codes, prices far below market rate and sellers offering medicines without a clinical assessment are the pattern the regulator describes as red flags. You can report suspect sellers directly at the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme.
Wegovy tablets are a newly approved medicine. The supply chain is still establishing itself. The right questions to ask of any provider are: is this pharmacy on the GPhC register? Does a real prescriber review my consultation? Is the medicine sourced through the licensed UK supply chain? Price answers none of those questions. A provider that prices its service honestly, with no hidden fees and proper clinical oversight, is a different product from one whose headline number omits the things that matter.
If you want to understand how oral semaglutide compares to the injectable options on evidence and licensing, the semaglutide tablets price guide and the weight-loss treatments overview cover that ground clearly. Our page on understanding semaglutide pills cost across different providers is also useful if you want to compare what is typically included before making a decision. Or, if you are ready to find out whether Wegovy tablets are right for you, a free clinical consultation with our prescribers is the place to start.
