Wegovy Scotland Price: What Private Treatment Actually Costs

Free clinical consultation included — no separate fee to pay upfront
Prescription issued by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber who personally reviews your case
Free next-working-day tracked delivery by DPD in plain, unbranded packaging
Priority aftercare available seven days a week, with no subscription and no auto-renewal

If you live in Scotland and you're looking into Wegovy, the honest answer on price is this: private treatment typically runs between around £149 and £375 per month depending on your dose and provider, and any legitimate quote should include your prescription and clinical assessment — not just the pen itself. Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription-only medicine, so the price you pay should always reflect a proper clinical review by a registered prescriber, not just a product being posted out. Wegovy's full treatment profile covers the evidence and eligibility in more detail if you want the clinical picture first.

How Wegovy pricing works in Scotland, and what legitimate treatment should include

You've found prices online that don't add up, here's why

It's a familiar situation. You search for Wegovy prices in Scotland, find a range of figures that vary by £100 or more, and feel none the wiser. Some listings look temptingly low. Others seem steep. The variation is real, but it's not random: a lot of it comes down to what those headline prices actually include.

Eli Lilly raised Mounjaro's UK list price from September 2025, and Novo Nordisk's pricing for semaglutide pens has followed a similar pattern of adjustment. If you want to understand what you'd typically pay across the country, our Wegovy price page covers the current market figures in detail, including how dose affects the monthly cost. But some of the cheaper listings you'll find are pen-only prices, with consultation fees, prescription charges and delivery billed separately. By the time you add those up, the gap between providers often narrows considerably.

There's also the matter of access. Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine. Under UK law, you cannot legally receive it without a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. If a price seems to sidestep that entirely, it should give you pause. Our overview of Wegovy cost and pricing sets out what the market looks like across different doses.

Scotland's NHS route for Wegovy: the honest picture

NICE recommends semaglutide (Wegovy) for adults with a BMI of 35 or above and at least one weight-related health condition, within a specialist weight management service, for a maximum of two years, per NICE technology appraisal TA875. However, Scotland's NHS operates under a different system: access is managed through NHS Scotland's own clinical guidance, and thresholds and waiting times differ from England's.

In practice, the NHS route in Scotland requires a referral to a specialist service, and waiting times at those services are substantial in most health board areas. For many people, that wait (months or longer) is the real obstacle. Private treatment through a regulated online pharmacy removes the referral requirement and the waiting list, provided you meet the clinical criteria and a prescriber judges you suitable. That's where a service like ours comes in, though it's worth being clear: private treatment means you pay for it yourself.

Lower BMI thresholds can apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK clinical guidance, a point worth raising at consultation if relevant. Our weight-loss treatment page explains the private eligibility criteria in plain terms.

What's included in one price, and why we're not the cheapest

At nume, we've made a deliberate choice not to compete on headline price. One price covers your consultation, your prescription, the treatment itself, next-working-day delivery and seven-day aftercare, there are no add-ons waiting at checkout. A clinician reviews your case personally before every order, including repeat prescriptions. There are no subscriptions and no auto-renewals; every order is re-reviewed.

We lose the price comparison on purpose. A prescription medicine that has passed through legitimate clinical review, a GPhC-registered pharmacy and a verified supply chain costs what it costs. The alternative (shaving cost by cutting corners on assessment, or sourcing pens outside the licensed UK supply chain) creates risks that no saving justifies. The MHRA has publicly warned about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online, including pens that were found to contain insulin rather than the stated medicine. Checking that your pharmacy is on the GPhC register is a two-minute check that matters.

Discount codes and Wegovy: a word of caution

Searches for Wegovy discount codes in Scotland are common. We don't run discount codes, vouchers or promotional offers, not because we can't, but because a reduction in price for a prescription-only medicine almost always means something else is being reduced too: the clinical assessment, the quality of the supply chain, or both.

When an unknown seller offers a GLP-1 medicine at a steep discount or with a promotional code attached, that combination is one of the clearer red flags the MHRA has identified for illicit sellers. Legitimate pharmacies registered with the GPhC don't need to discount prescription medicines to attract patients. Our FAQs cover what we do and don't include in the price if you want the full picture before starting. And if something feels off about a seller you've come across, you can report them through the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme.

For a full breakdown of how prices vary by dose, our Wegovy doses and prices page is the place to start, and if you're specifically looking at the starting dose, our Wegovy 1 mg price page breaks down what that first pen typically costs. Patients based in Northern Ireland can also find region-specific figures on our Wegovy price Northern Ireland page, where local availability and costs are covered separately.
