Start journey Learn moreIn the UK, Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription-only medicine for weight management, and the private price you pay each month reflects far more than the pen itself. Typical UK private prices run roughly £149–£375 per month depending on dose and provider, though what that figure actually covers varies considerably between clinics. As a prescription medicine, Wegovy requires a clinical assessment before any supply is lawful — the price should always include that, and often it does not. Here is what to look for before you commit to any provider.

Wegovy is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above alongside a weight-related health condition. As a prescription-only medicine, it cannot legally be dispensed without a prescriber's assessment — so any quoted monthly price should, at minimum, cover that clinical step. How Wegovy works and what it's licensed for is worth reading before you compare costs, because the medicine itself is only part of what you are paying for in a well-run service.
Typical private UK prices since Eli Lilly raised Mounjaro's list price in September 2025 give a useful sense of where the wider injectable weight-loss market sits: similar GLP-1 treatments are priced between roughly £149 and £375 per month at private providers, varying by dose and what the fee includes. If you want to understand exactly what drives those figures, our guide to Wegovy weight loss prices breaks down what each tier of spend typically covers. These are hedged market figures, not guaranteed prices, you will see both lower and higher quotes online, and the gap in what is included explains much of the variation.
The broader landscape of semaglutide pricing in the UK shows that the same molecule can sit at very different price points depending on whether clinical review, prescriptions and aftercare are bundled or billed separately. That gap matters more than the headline number.
Browse enough clinic websites and a pattern emerges. A low headline price often reflects the medicine alone (the pen) with the consultation charged separately, sometimes at £30–£50 per session. Prescription fees, dose-review appointments and delivery charges can each add further cost. By the time you have added a monthly delivery fee and a check-in call, the cheap-looking quote may be considerably less competitive than it first appeared. It adds up.
Aftercare matters clinically too. Wegovy is titrated over several months, starting at 0.25mg and stepping up through 0.5mg, 1.0mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg under prescriber guidance, and the recently approved 7.2mg maintenance dose extends that titration further. Each dose step ideally involves a clinical review. A provider that charges separately for those reviews is not a red flag in itself, but a provider that skips them entirely is. The full cost breakdown for Wegovy in the UK sets out what responsible services typically include at each stage.
For a realistic sense of what outcomes this investment is working toward, many people find it useful to read about how much weight you lose weekly on Wegovy, which provides context alongside the STEP 1 trial's reported finding of around 15% average body-weight reduction over 68 weeks, published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
At nume, the price you see on the treatment page is the price. One figure covers the free consultation, the prescription, the medicine, and next-working-day tracked delivery by DPD, order before 12pm on a weekday and your treatment is dispatched the same day once a prescriber has approved it. There is no delivery charge, no separate prescription fee, and no repeat-consultation fee when you order again. Our clinical team reviews every consultation personally, a real prescriber reads your answers, not software.
We are not the cheapest option in the UK. That is a deliberate choice. Competing on price for a prescription medicine means something has to give, and it is usually clinical oversight, supply chain integrity or aftercare. A question our prescribers hear regularly is whether it is safe to switch providers for a lower price; the honest answer is that it depends entirely on what that lower price excludes. Our approach to clinical safety explains where the budget goes instead.
We do not run discount codes, vouchers or promotional offers for Wegovy or any prescription medicine. If you have found a code promising a reduction on a named POM from an unverified seller, that is a red flag. The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online (including fake pens that have contained insulin rather than semaglutide) and sellers offering prescription medicines without a clinical assessment are operating unlawfully. You can verify any online pharmacy on the GPhC register; our registration number is 9012878.
Price is a reasonable thing to consider. It would be odd not to. But for a prescription-only treatment, the more useful questions are: is this dispensed by a GPhC-registered pharmacy? Will a qualified prescriber review my health history? Is the medicine sourced through the licensed UK supply chain? Those questions have yes/no answers, and a no to any of them outweighs a saving of £20 a month.
Wegovy is available on the NHS, but access is gated through specialist weight management services under NICE technology appraisal TA875, and waiting lists are commonly long. Private treatment through a regulated pharmacy is the practical route for people who do not meet current NHS criteria or cannot wait. The per-dose pricing context for Wegovy and the broader Wegovy price guide may both help before you make a decision.
