Start journey Learn moreThe only legal place to buy Mounjaro in the UK is through a registered pharmacy, following a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, so no pharmacy — online or on the high street — can lawfully supply it without one. Once you have a valid prescription from a clinician who has assessed your suitability, a GPhC-registered online pharmacy is the most practical route for most people: no waiting room, no referral letter, no waiting list. At nume, a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber personally reviews every consultation the same day it arrives, and if you're clinically suitable your treatment is dispatched that afternoon.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is classified as a Prescription-Only Medicine under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. That classification exists for good reason: the medicine interacts with other conditions, other drugs, and a person's full clinical picture in ways that matter. A prescriber has to make that assessment before any supply can happen, full stop.
In practice, there are two routes. The NHS route requires meeting strict phased eligibility criteria (currently BMI 40 or above, alongside a qualifying set of weight-related conditions) and joining a waiting list via your GP or a specialist weight-management service. The private route means paying for the medicine and the clinical service yourself, through a pharmacy that holds the relevant authorisations. There is no third option. A seller offering Mounjaro without a clinical consultation is operating outside the law, regardless of how professional their website looks.
Our Mounjaro overview sets out the full eligibility picture, including the BMI thresholds and qualifying conditions, if you want to work through whether you're likely to meet the criteria before booking a consultation.
Every pharmacy dispensing medicines to UK patients must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You can check any pharmacy (including ours) by searching the GPhC pharmacy register directly. nume's registration number is 9012878. That search takes about thirty seconds and tells you whether a pharmacy is authorised to dispense, who the responsible pharmacist is, and whether any concerns have been raised. If a seller doesn't appear on that register, walk away.
Beyond the register, look for clear information about how prescriptions are issued, who the prescribers are, and how the pharmacy handles clinical queries afterwards. Vague answers on any of those points are a warning sign. You can also read about how our prescribing team works on the clinical team page.
The MHRA has published repeated warnings about fake weight-loss pens being sold online and through social media, some containing insulin rather than tirzepatide. In October 2025, enforcement teams raided the first illicit UK site manufacturing counterfeit tirzepatide pens, roughly 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines, worth around £45 million, were seized across 2025. If you're unsure where to start, our guidance on where is the safest place to buy Mounjaro walks through exactly what to look for and what to avoid. So is any offer of Mounjaro without a clinical assessment, or a seller asking you to quote a discount code for a prescription medicine. Suspect sellers can be reported at yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk.
It's a practical question people don't always think to ask. Payday timing, a Monday order before the school run, a holiday coming up, these things matter when you're planning treatment. At nume the timeline is fairly predictable: consult any time, order before 12pm on a working day, and if the prescriber approves your consultation that afternoon your pen is with DPD the same evening for delivery next working day. That means a Monday morning order can realistically arrive Tuesday, even in the first week.
What you shouldn't do is rush a consultation to hit a deadline. The prescriber needs accurate, current information to assess you properly. If your weight or health situation has changed recently, say so. Clinical review isn't a box to tick quickly, it's the part that keeps the process safe. You can read through the most common questions about the process on our FAQs page before you start.
The private licence for Mounjaro covers adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above alongside at least one weight-related health condition, for example, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea, or prediabetes. Lower BMI thresholds apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK clinical guidance. Mounjaro is not licensed for people under 18, and it is not recommended during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or when actively trying to conceive.
A BMI that sits within the licensed range does not guarantee approval. The prescriber reviews the full picture: your health history, current medicines, any contraindications, and whether the clinical benefit is clear. That review is what the consultation is for.
