Kidney function matters too. Mounjaro hasn't been studied extensively in people with severe renal impairment, and dehydration from GI side effects can place extra strain on kidneys that are already working harder. The prescriber will factor this in.

Contraception, HRT, and other medicines taken alongside Mounjaro

This is the area patients most often overlook. Because tirzepatide slows gastric emptying, it can reduce how much of an oral medicine is absorbed in the hours after the injection.
