Cheapest 5mg Mounjaro Pen UK: What You're Really Paying For

What NICE and Eli Lilly's own pricing tell us about the 5mg pen's position in the market

Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults, a decision supported by the NICE appraisal published in December 2024 (NICE technology appraisal TA1026) and underpinned by evidence from the SURMOUNT clinical programme, which randomised thousands of adults with obesity. Treatment starts at 2.5mg for the first four weeks as a tolerability dose; the prescriber then steps patients up, and 5mg is the first therapeutic increase on that schedule. Eli Lilly revised Mounjaro's UK list price from 1 September 2025. The higher doses saw the sharpest increases, with the highest strength rising from roughly £122 to around £330 per four-week pen at list price. The 5mg pen sits lower in that range, but as widely reported at the time, the revision affected the entire schedule. Private providers pass these costs through in different ways, which is why the spread between providers at 5mg can look wider than you'd expect.
