Step 2: The room-temperature window once you have started a pen

Once you have taken the first dose from a pen, it can remain at room temperature (consistently below 30°C) for up to 28 days. Step 3: Injection day itself, and the practical bits no one tells you

A pen that has been in the fridge feels cold against the skin, and injecting cold medicine can sting more than necessary. Taking the pen out about 30 minutes before your injection gives it time to reach room temperature naturally. There is no need to run it under warm water or leave it near a radiator, just set it on the kitchen counter while you have breakfast, then inject.

For the injection itself, clean the chosen site with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry fully before inserting the needle. Rotating sites (abdomen, thigh and upper arm on different weeks) reduces irritation over time. Replace the needle after each injection and dispose of used needles promptly in a proper sharps container; never recap needles or put them in general household waste. Travelling with Wegovy: keeping it cool on the move

Travel raises the storage question most sharply. A short journey (popping to work, visiting family across town) needs no special planning if the car stays temperate.
