How much does the Mounjaro jab cost in the UK?

Why the quoted price rarely tells the whole story

A question our prescribers hear most weeks is some version of: "I've seen Mounjaro advertised for less — why is there such a gap between providers?" It is a fair thing to ask. The honest answer is that headline prices for a Mounjaro pen frequently exclude things that matter. Some providers charge separately for the initial consultation. Others add a prescription-issue fee on top, or bill for delivery as a separate line. Aftercare (clinical support between doses, help if you feel unwell, guidance when a dose change is due) can carry its own monthly charge. None of those additions appear in the number shown on a comparison site.

Eli Lilly's revised UK list price, which came into effect from 1 September 2025, pushed the highest-dose pen's list price from around £122 to around £330. Private providers set their own margins above that figure. What the total price should cover, and what cuts are a red flag

Mounjaro is a Black Triangle medicine (▼) under additional MHRA monitoring, dispensed only against a valid UK prescription. Any legitimate private route must include a thorough clinical assessment of your health history, BMI, existing conditions and current medicines. A prescriber (a real, registered clinician) has to decide suitability before a pen is issued. Price is the wrong test for a prescription medicine

A small saving on a single pen is not a useful measure of value when the medicine has to be genuine, the dose has to be right for you, and the clinical oversight has to be in place to catch problems early.
