The MHRA has documented large-scale seizures of counterfeit tirzepatide pens, including a raid on an illicit UK manufacturing site in Northampton in October 2025, and earlier enforcement operations removing around 20 million doses (~£45m street value) of illegally traded weight-loss medicines from circulation. Fake pens have, in verified cases, contained insulin rather than tirzepatide. The consequences of injecting the wrong substance are serious.

The safe route is a prescription from a clinician following proper assessment, dispensed by a pharmacy you can verify.
