How much is Mounjaro a month in the UK?

Free clinical consultation, reviewed the same day by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber
Prescription fee included, no separate charge at checkout
Free next-working-day tracked delivery via DPD, in plain unbranded packaging
Priority aftercare seven days a week, with clinical re-review before every repeat order

Mounjaro costs roughly £149–£375 per month through UK private providers, depending on the dose prescribed — figures that shifted significantly after Eli Lilly raised its list price from around £122 to around £330 per pen from 1 September 2025, as widely reported. Any legitimate monthly cost covers a prescription issued by a registered prescriber following a clinical assessment; Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine and cannot legally be supplied without one. The right question, then, isn't just the headline number — it's what that number actually includes.

What the monthly price of Mounjaro actually covers, and what it often doesn't

Where the UK price range comes from, and why it moved

NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026, published December 2024) confirmed Mounjaro as a recommended treatment for weight management in eligible adults. That clinical endorsement, combined with strong demand, has put considerable pressure on supply and pricing across the private market.

Eli Lilly's UK list price increase in September 2025 (from roughly £122 to roughly £330 per four-week pen at the highest dose) is the single biggest reason monthly costs look different now compared with a year ago. Private providers set their own prices on top of that wholesale cost, which is why the range is wide. At lower doses (treatment begins at 2.5mg, a starting point for tolerability rather than full effect), the monthly outlay sits toward the bottom of the range; at maintenance doses it reaches the top.

These figures can be found on our Mounjaro pricing overview and are hedged as "typically" because they reflect a market that continues to move. No legitimate UK provider can undercut the wholesale list price, so any quotation far below £149 a month warrants close scrutiny.

Worth noting: if you order by midday on a working day, dispatch happens the same day once you're approved, useful to know around payday or before a bank-holiday weekend when delivery windows compress.

What headline prices frequently leave out

A £X-per-pen figure on a website doesn't always mean that's what you pay by the time your treatment arrives. Several costs sit outside the headline number at some providers: an initial consultation fee (sometimes £30–£80), a prescription charge on top of the medicine price, a delivery fee, and ongoing clinical-review charges for repeat orders.

It adds up. A treatment that looks cheaper per pen can cost more across three months once those extras are totalled. If you want to understand how much Mounjaro costs per month in practice, reading through the full monthly cost breakdown before comparing providers makes sense, because the comparison only holds up when you're counting the same things.

Aftercare access is another variable that rarely appears in the headline. Some services offer it; some make it chargeable; some don't offer it at all. For a medicine titrated through several doses over months, being able to reach a clinician when something unexpected happens isn't a luxury feature.

How nume prices Mounjaro, and why we're open about not being cheapest

At nume, one transparent price covers the consultation, the prescription, the medicine, next-working-day DPD delivery and ongoing clinical support. There are no subscriptions and no auto-renewals; each repeat order is clinically re-reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber before it ships. No hidden line items appear at checkout.

We don't position ourselves as the lowest-cost option. That's a deliberate choice. The pharmacy is GPhC-registered (premises registration 9012878, verifiable on the GPhC register), medicines come through the licensed UK supply chain, and every consultation is read by a real clinician the same day, not processed by an algorithm. That infrastructure costs more to run than a bare-bones listing service, and we think it's worth it.

Current treatment pricing is listed on our weight-loss treatments page. We publish it clearly and don't bury it behind a sign-up wall.

Why cheapest is the wrong measure for a prescription medicine

The MHRA has warned publicly (and seized evidence confirms it) that counterfeit Mounjaro pens are circulating in the UK market, some sold through social media, some through unregistered websites. Around 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines (valued at roughly £45 million) were intercepted in 2025 alone, including the first UK raid on a site producing counterfeit tirzepatide. Fake pens have in some cases contained insulin, which is dangerous outside clinical supervision.

The price signal matters: sellers offering Mounjaro well below the £149 floor, without a clinical assessment and without a verifiable GPhC registration, are a red flag. Reporting a suspect seller takes two minutes via the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme. Any online pharmacy you consider should be findable on the GPhC pharmacy register; if it isn't, walk away.

For more background on what drives the cost variation and what results the clinical evidence supports, the Mounjaro treatment guide and our weight-loss results page are good starting points. If the recent list-price change caught you off guard, the Mounjaro price context page explains what happened and what it means for patients, and our pages covering Mounjaro price per month and how much Mounjaro costs per month break down what to expect across a full course of treatment.
