Start journey Learn moreOne dose of Wegovy in the UK means one weekly injection from a pre-filled pen — but the price you pay privately depends on which strength you're on, which provider you use, and what that price actually includes. Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine, so any legitimate cost involves clinical assessment by a registered prescriber. Private monthly pricing across the UK market has typically ranged from around £150 to over £300 depending on dose, with Eli Lilly's September 2025 list-price increase for tirzepatide bringing wider attention to how much GLP-1 pricing can shift — our full Wegovy price guide covers the broader picture. On this page we break down how one-dose pricing is structured, what often gets left out of headline figures, and how to read the total cost honestly.

Each Wegovy pen contains four weekly doses. Providers price by the pen or by the month, which means a single injection's cost is roughly one quarter of whatever you pay per pen. If you want to understand exactly how much a single dose of Wegovy works out to across the different strengths, the figures are worth looking at before you compare providers. At the 2.4mg maintenance dose, and especially at the newly approved 7.2mg dose (the Wegovy overview page covers both), prices are higher. The MHRA approved a dedicated single-dose 7.2mg pen on 14 April 2026 for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, which has added another tier to the pricing landscape.
Because Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine, as the NHS medicines page explains, the pen itself is only part of what a legitimate private provider charges. A consultation, a prescriber's clinical review, and in many cases a delivery fee are all part of getting treatment safely to your door. When you see a price quoted per dose or per pen, the first question worth asking is what it includes.
Private weight-loss services vary considerably in how they bundle their costs. Some quote the pen price alone, then add a consultation fee at checkout, sometimes £20, sometimes considerably more. Others charge separately for the prescription, for delivery, or for follow-up clinical support if your dose changes. A figure that looks competitive per dose can climb quickly once those line items appear.
Aftercare is worth particular attention. Wegovy treatment involves a titration schedule that typically runs from 0.25mg up through several steps over several months. Each dose increase should involve a prescriber checking that the previous dose was tolerated and that continuing is appropriate. If that review isn't included in what you're paying, you may find yourself paying again each time, or, worse, moving doses without any clinical oversight at all. The breakdown of Wegovy dose prices explains how this stacks up across the full schedule.
Delivery is another frequent omission. Next-working-day tracked delivery of a refrigerated medicine requires a reliable courier service. That's a real cost, and services that advertise it for free are building it somewhere into the price, or cutting a corner. Worth checking before you commit.
We're not going to win a race to the lowest price per dose. That's a deliberate choice. At nume, one price covers the consultation, the independent prescriber's review (a real clinician reads your answers, your submission goes to a person, not an algorithm), the prescription, the medicine, and free next-working-day DPD delivery in plain, unbranded packaging. There are no add-on fees. Order before 12pm on a weekday and, once approved, your treatment goes out the same day, useful if your pen runs out before the week you'd planned around.
Our clinical team also reviews every repeat order before it's dispensed. That's not a formality; it's how clinical oversight of a prescription medicine should work. Current treatment pricing is shown on the treatment page, we don't print per-pen prices in editorial copy, because prices can change and the right place for them is the page that stays current. No discount codes, no promotional periods, no vouchers: these are prescription medicines, not consumer goods.
The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online, including fake pens that have contained insulin rather than semaglutide. Large-scale enforcement action in 2025 (including the first raid on an illicit UK manufacturing site producing counterfeit tirzepatide) shows that the risk is real and ongoing. The MHRA's Yellow Card scheme allows anyone to report suspected counterfeit medicines or unlicensed sellers.
For a prescription-only medicine, price is the wrong test. Supply-chain integrity, verified pharmacy registration, and genuine clinical oversight are the right ones. You can check any online pharmacy on the GPhC register, nume's premises registration number is 9012878, verifiable directly. Sellers offering Wegovy without requiring a prescription, via social media, or at prices significantly below the private market range are red flags, not bargains.
If you're weighing up the one-dose cost, the more useful question is what the full course of treatment (consultation, medicine, oversight and delivery) actually comes to. Our monthly Wegovy cost guide gives a grounded picture of what to budget across the titration schedule. For a clear sense of what Wegovy costs when purchased through a private provider, without NHS subsidy, that page sets out what to expect. If you're just starting out and want to know how much the lowest dose of Wegovy costs before you commit to the full titration schedule, that's a sensible place to begin. And if you'd like to check whether Wegovy is clinically suitable for you, check your eligibility with our prescribers, there's no charge for the consultation.
