Who can actually get Mounjaro 5mg (and through which route
Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 and above where at least one weight-related condition is present) such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, or obstructive sleep apnoea. Lower BMI thresholds apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance. On the NHS, access to Mounjaro follows a phased rollout with strict eligibility criteria, from June 2026, the current cohort requires a BMI of 35 to 39.9 alongside four or more qualifying conditions.
