Private Mounjaro treatment in the UK costs vary by dose and provider, typically ranging from around £149 to £375 per month — a range that widened significantly after Eli Lilly raised the list price of the highest-dose pen from around £122 to around £330 in September 2025. That figure is widely reported and hedged for good reason: what you actually pay depends almost entirely on what the quoted price includes. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, which means every legitimate purchase requires a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. No assessment, no legal prescription — and without a legal prescription, there is no legal supply.

How UK Mounjaro Pricing Works, and What Legitimate Treatment Costs

What NICE's recommendation tells us about Mounjaro's value, and its cost context

NICE published its appraisal of tirzepatide in December 2024 (updated September 2025), recommending it for adults with a BMI of 35 or above alongside at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or obstructive sleep apnoea. For people from South Asian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean backgrounds, the qualifying threshold is 2.5 kg/m² lower. That guidance covers NHS access, which remains tightly phased and limited for now, most people who want treatment without a long wait are paying privately.

The clinical evidence that informed NICE's recommendation is instructive. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, adults taking the 15mg dose achieved an average body-weight reduction of around 20–21% over 72 weeks alongside lifestyle changes. That context matters when weighing up monthly spend: the research involved thousands of adults on a carefully titrated schedule, starting at 2.5mg to let the body adjust, not at the therapeutic ceiling. Prices therefore span a range of doses, not just one pen.

Eli Lilly's September 2025 list-price adjustment pushed the cost of mounjaro at higher doses sharply upward, the 15mg pen's list price moved from roughly £122 to around £330. If you want to understand how Mounjaro costs break down across the full titration schedule, those figures should be treated as directional rather than definitive, as providers set their own margins. For dose-specific breakdowns, the 15mg cost page covers the top of the range in detail, and there are equivalent pages for every step of the titration schedule.

What headline Mounjaro prices often leave out

A quoted monthly figure from any private provider should be interrogated before you read too much into it. The sticker price is sometimes just the medicine. Separately charged items to look for include: the initial consultation fee, the prescription charge, any clinical review fee at dose increases, delivery costs, and ongoing aftercare or support. Add those up and a headline figure that looks lean can become meaningfully more expensive per month.

There is also the clinical-review question. Dose increases for tirzepatide require assessment, a prescriber needs to know how you have tolerated the current dose before authorising the next. Some services charge for that separately; others bundle it. The difference matters because titration typically happens every four weeks for several months. Checking what a price actually includes takes under a minute: look for a clear written breakdown on the provider's pricing page before you enter your card details. Worth doing.

For a fuller picture of how private Mounjaro pricing stacks up across the titration ladder, the Mounjaro price overview brings together the key figures in one place. If you are comparing the earlier doses specifically, the 2.5mg cost page explains why the starter pen is priced differently from maintenance doses.

Where nume sits on price, and why

One transparent price at nume covers the consultation, the prescription, the treatment, tracked next-working-day delivery and seven-day aftercare. We don't run discount codes or promotional offers for prescription medicines, and we don't operate subscriptions that roll over without your review. Every repeat order goes back to a prescriber first.

We are not the cheapest option available. That is a deliberate choice. A GPhC-registered online pharmacy with its own dispensing infrastructure, same-day clinical review and DPD-tracked dispatch costs more to run than a bare-bones listing service. Our GPhC registration number (9012878) is verifiable in seconds on the GPhC register. We'd encourage you to check any provider the same way before ordering.

Current treatment pricing is shown on our treatment page. If you'd like to understand what's involved before looking at numbers, the weight-loss treatment overview covers the full picture, including how the titration schedule works in practice.

Why cheapest is the wrong test for a prescription medicine

The MHRA has repeatedly warned about counterfeit tirzepatide pens sold online. In October 2025 investigators raided an illicit UK manufacturing site in Northampton producing fake tirzepatide; earlier enforcement that year seized an estimated 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines, worth around £45 million. Some counterfeit pens previously seized had contained insulin. The MHRA's Yellow Card scheme lets you report both suspected side effects and suspect sellers.

Sellers offering Mounjaro without a prescription, via social media, or at prices well below the private-market range are serious red flags. For a prescription-only medicine on a carefully titrated schedule, questions about Mounjaro 5mg cost are worth asking early, since that is the dose many people reach after their first titration step and pricing there can vary considerably between providers. If you are moving through the schedule and want to know what to budget ahead of time, the 10mg Mounjaro cost page covers what to expect at that stage of titration. The right question is whether the supply chain is licensed, whether a real prescriber reviewed your case, and whether you know who to call if something concerns you after your pen arrives. Our prescribers are available seven days a week for exactly that reason. If you are ready to start, speak to our prescribers through a free consultation.
