Mounjaro®
Starting from £179.99/mo
Start journey Learn moreIn the UK, Mounjaro 5mg is available only on private prescription, and typical monthly costs across providers range from roughly £149 to £375 depending on the dose and the pharmacy — with 5mg sitting in the mid-range of that picture. The price you see advertised rarely tells the whole story. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine: a GPhC-registered prescriber must assess your clinical suitability before any treatment is dispensed, so that assessment has to be part of whatever you pay, one way or another. Eli Lilly, Mounjaro's manufacturer, raised its UK list price significantly from 1 September 2025, which is why private costs are noticeably higher than they were a year ago. If you're looking at different providers right now and wondering whether a lower number means a better deal, that's an entirely reasonable thing to question.

NICE's appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026) sets out the clinical evidence base that put Mounjaro on the map: in the SURMOUNT-1 trial, adults at the higher doses achieved average weight reductions of around 20–21% over 72 weeks. The 5mg dose is the second step in the licensed titration schedule, it follows the 2.5mg starter pen, whose main job is to let your body adjust before therapeutic doses begin. So by the time someone is asking about the cost of Mounjaro 5mg, they are typically already in treatment and thinking about whether their current arrangement is working for them.
Private pricing reflects several things: the list price Lilly charges the supply chain, the pharmacy's dispensing and clinical costs, delivery, and ongoing prescriber oversight. Following the September 2025 list-price increase (widely reported at the time) the top dose's list price alone rose from around £122 to around £330 per four-week pen. Providers have priced differently in response, and if you are wondering whether Mounjaro is coming down in price, that question is worth exploring before committing to a provider. For a broader sense of how pricing varies across the dose range, our full Mounjaro cost overview covers that picture in more detail.
One thing worth knowing: the 5mg pen gives four weekly injections. The monthly cost you pay (whatever provider you use) is therefore a per-pen figure. Comparing quotes from different sources is sensible, but only when the quotes are genuinely comparable.
This is where the practical detail matters. A price for Mounjaro 5mg listed online may or may not include the initial consultation fee, a prescription charge on top, the cost of delivery, and access to a prescriber if something concerns you mid-treatment. Some providers charge each of those separately. That means a headline figure of, say, £175 can become meaningfully more once everything is added. The 5mg price page addresses this specifically if you want to compare structures rather than numbers.
Clinical aftercare is the part that is most often stripped out of competitive pricing. If your dose needs reviewing, if you have a question about a side effect, or if something changes in your health picture, having a prescriber available matters, and it costs something to provide. Our FAQs address what clinical support actually looks like in practice.
Delivery terms vary too. Same-day dispatch and tracked next-working-day delivery are not standard across the sector; some providers use postal services with three-to-five day windows. For a medicine that requires refrigeration, the handling chain matters as much as the price.
We lose the price comparison on purpose. At nume, one price covers the consultation, prescription, medicine, and free next-working-day DPD delivery to your door in plain, unbranded packaging. Our prescribers are GPhC-registered Independent Prescribers, you can verify our pharmacy registration (GPhC number 9012878) directly on the GPhC register. What you see on our treatment page is what you pay. If you want to understand how 5mg sits against the rest of the dose ladder, the dedicated 5mg cost page and the common questions around what 5mg costs are both worth reading before you decide. Current pricing is shown on our treatment page, we don't list per-pen prices in body copy because they can change, and we'd rather you see the accurate, current figure.
There are no discount codes at nume. Codes for prescription medicines from unverified sellers are a red flag, not a perk: the MHRA has warned repeatedly about counterfeit GLP-1 pens circulating online, some of which have contained incorrect substances. That is not a risk worth taking to save £20.
Price is a reasonable starting point for a consumer good. For a prescription medicine, it is the wrong test. The right questions are: Is this pharmacy registered and verifiable? Is a qualified prescriber (not a questionnaire) actually reviewing my case? Is the medicine coming from the licensed UK supply chain? NICE's published guidance on tirzepatide (TA1026) and the NHS England framework for weight-management medicines both describe the clinical oversight that should surround treatment. A price that does not reflect that oversight should prompt a question, not a purchase.
Mounjaro works best alongside sustained lifestyle changes, and the clinical relationship that supports that is part of the treatment. Our clinical team is publicly listed, and our about page explains how our pharmacy operates. If you are wondering whether you are clinically suitable for 5mg or thinking about where treatment goes from here, the weight-loss treatment overview is a useful grounding read before a consultation. The 15mg endpoint and what it means for the longer journey is covered on the 15mg cost page for anyone planning ahead.
A small saving each month is not the measure that keeps you safe. The measure is whether the service behind the medicine is genuinely equipped to support you. Speak to our prescribers, the consultation is free, and it's the right place to start.
