Mounjaro prices in the UK rose significantly from 1 September 2025, when Eli Lilly increased the list price of higher doses substantially — the 15mg pen's list price moved from around £122 to around £330 per four-week supply, with knock-on effects across private providers. Those are the reported figures; actual private prices vary by clinic and dose, and any legitimate price covers a clinical prescription, not just the medicine itself. Because Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, accessing it requires a clinical assessment — a qualified prescriber decides whether it is suitable for you, and that process is part of what a responsible provider's price reflects. If you're trying to work out what the price increase means for your treatment costs, or whether you're getting a fair deal, this page explains the landscape clearly.

How the Lilly price change affects UK private costs, and what a fair price actually includes

Why did Mounjaro prices go up in the UK?

Eli Lilly raised its UK list prices for Mounjaro from 1 September 2025. The increase was steepest at the higher doses: the 15mg pen's list price rose from roughly £122 to around £330 for a four-week supply, as widely reported at the time of Lilly's UK statement. Lower doses saw smaller absolute increases, though the percentage shift was still meaningful for patients on longer-term treatment. For a detailed breakdown by dose, the Mounjaro price increase figures are worth reading before drawing conclusions about any single provider's pricing, and the reasons behind the Mounjaro price increase add useful context alongside them.

The manufacturer's list price is not the same as what you pay at a private pharmacy, providers set their own prices, which reflect the cost of medicine, dispensing, clinical oversight and aftercare. When Lilly's list price rises sharply, some of that increase passes through to the patient, and some private prices now sit substantially higher than they did before September 2025. A question our prescribers hear most weeks at the moment is whether it's worth switching provider to save money: the honest answer depends entirely on what the cheaper option actually includes.

It also matters which dose you're on. The 5mg price increase felt different to patients than the change at 10mg or 15mg, because the list-price rise was proportionally smaller at the starter end of the schedule. If you want the figures by dose, those pages set them out plainly.

What do headline prices for Mounjaro often leave out?

Private Mounjaro prices are typically quoted per pen or per four-week supply. That headline number sometimes covers the medicine and nothing else. Before comparing prices between providers, it is worth asking a few specific questions: Is the consultation included, or is there a separate fee? Does the price cover the prescription itself? Is next-day delivery free, or charged per order? And critically, is there ongoing clinical oversight, someone who reviews your progress, checks for side effects and approves each repeat before it is dispensed?

Those are not small extras. A legitimate clinical review before a dose increase or a repeat prescription takes trained professional time. When that cost is stripped out to produce a lower headline price, someone is bearing it, often the patient, when something goes wrong and there is no clinical support available. The full picture of Mounjaro costs in the UK covers this in more detail, including what to look for when reading any provider's pricing page.

It is also worth checking that any pharmacy you use is registered with the GPhC. You can verify a pharmacy's registration directly at the GPhC pharmacy register. The MHRA has warned publicly about fake weight-loss pens sold online (some containing no active ingredient, others containing insulin) and discount pricing from unverified sellers is one of the clearest red flags. Report any suspect seller via the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme.

Where does nume sit on price, and what does that include?

We are not the cheapest option in the UK market. That is a deliberate choice. Our single price covers the consultation, the prescription, the medicine, free next-working-day tracked delivery and priority aftercare seven days a week. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal: every repeat order is clinically reviewed before it is dispensed. You can see current treatment pricing on our treatment page, we do not publish per-pen figures in page copy because prices at higher doses shift when list prices shift, and we'd rather you see the live number than a figure that aged last month.

What we can say plainly is that the clinical infrastructure is the same regardless of which dose you're on. Your consultation is reviewed by a real prescriber, not software. Our pharmacy holds GPhC premises registration 9012878, which you can check at any time at pharmacyregulation.org. Medicines come through the licensed UK supply chain via Eli Lilly's authorised distribution. If you're currently paying a low price elsewhere and wondering whether the September 2025 increases mean you should look again, those are the things worth comparing, not just the number at the top of the page. Our guide to comparing Mounjaro providers walks through exactly that.

Is 'cheapest' the right way to choose a Mounjaro provider after a price increase?

Price matters. Nobody pretends otherwise, especially after a significant list-price rise pushed monthly costs higher for many patients. But for a prescription-only medicine, price is one input into a wider question: is this supply safe, genuine and clinically supervised?

The MHRA has confirmed that counterfeit tirzepatide pens have been seized in the UK, including a manufacturing site raided in Northampton in October 2025. Fake pens reached patients through channels that looked, superficially, like legitimate online pharmacies. The clearest distinguishing features of a safe route are GPhC registration, a prescriber who assesses you individually, and medicines traceable to the authorised supply chain. A small saving on a pen that is not what it claims to be is not a saving at all.

If the Lilly price increase has pushed your current treatment out of reach, that is a real problem worth addressing properly. Some patients will qualify for NHS access, the phased rollout of Mounjaro on the NHS is ongoing, with NHS pricing working differently to the private market.
