Mounjaro®

Start journey Learn moreYou can only buy Mounjaro legally in the UK with a valid prescription from a registered prescriber, following a clinical assessment confirming it is suitable for you. It is a prescription-only medicine — no pharmacy, online or otherwise, may supply it without that clinical step. Once you have a prescription, you can fill it through an NHS pharmacy or a GPhC-registered online pharmacy operating within the licensed UK supply chain. At nume, that process starts with a free consultation reviewed the same day by a real clinician, not software.

Picture the moment most people are in when they search this: they've heard about Mounjaro from a friend, a podcast, their GP, or a headline, and they want to know whether they can get it without a months-long waiting list. The short answer is yes, but only through a clinical assessment first. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a Prescription-Only Medicine under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. That classification exists because the medicine carries real clinical considerations: it affects how your gut and pancreas work, it interacts with other medications, and the dose is titrated over months by a prescriber who knows your health picture.
Any UK pharmacy, physical or online, that offers it without first routing you through a prescriber is operating outside the law. The MHRA has repeatedly warned about sellers (often found through social media) offering weight-loss injections without a clinical assessment; some of those products have turned out to be counterfeit pens containing the wrong substance entirely. The legal route is the safe one, and it is not complicated. A registered prescriber reviews your health details, decides whether Mounjaro is appropriate for you, and (if it is) issues a prescription. That prescription is then dispensed through a regulated pharmacy.
On the where to get Mounjaro question more broadly: your options are an NHS route (see below) or a regulated private service. Both require that same prescriber step.
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is phased and tightly criteria-based. NICE recommended tirzepatide for weight management in December 2024 (Technology Appraisal TA1026), and the NHS England rollout is being released in stages. As of mid-2026, NHS access generally requires a BMI of 35 or above alongside multiple qualifying conditions, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea, dyslipidaemia or cardiovascular disease. Even where criteria are met, patients typically join a specialist weight management service or wait for GP practices to activate prescribing under the 2026/27 contract. Not every practice has done so yet. Waiting lists in many areas are substantial.
That gap is why regulated private clinics and pharmacies exist. A private prescription means no referral, no waiting list, and no requirement to meet NHS-specific thresholds, though you still need to be clinically suitable per the licensed criteria (broadly, a BMI of 30 or above, or 27-plus with a weight-related condition). Meeting those numbers is the starting point; a prescriber then assesses the whole picture before approving anything. Lower BMI thresholds can apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK clinical guidance.
If you want to understand more about how the NHS rollout is structured, the where to buy Mounjaro page covers both routes in more detail.
This is worth doing even if you already have a pharmacy in mind. Every pharmacy operating legally in the UK (online or on the high street) must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You can search the register directly at pharmacyregulation.org/registers; legitimate services will list their GPhC premises number openly and invite you to verify it. nume's registration number is 9012878, verifiable at the GPhC register. If a site does not publish a GPhC number, or the number does not return a valid result, that is a clear sign to walk away.
Other red flags: a seller who offers Mounjaro without routing you to a prescriber first, prices that seem dramatically below market rates, discount codes pushed through social media accounts, or no clear aftercare contact. The MHRA seized roughly 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines worth around £45 million in 2025 alone, including counterfeit tirzepatide pens found at an illicit manufacturing site. The stakes of buying from an unverified source are not abstract. If you encounter a suspect seller, you can report them through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Payday orders, Monday-morning urgency, pre-holiday panic, if timing pressure is pushing you toward a shortcut, it is worth pausing. A day's delay to use a verified route is not a meaningful cost compared to receiving a pen with an unknown content.
Start at the consultation page: you fill in a free health questionnaire covering your weight history, current conditions, medications and goals. A GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber (a named clinician, not an automated system) reads your answers the same day. Part of that review includes photo-ID verification and live weight confirmation on video, so the clinical picture is real, not self-reported guesswork.
If the prescriber determines Mounjaro is clinically suitable, they issue a prescription and your treatment is dispatched from our own GPhC-registered pharmacy. Order before 12pm on a working day and it ships the same day; DPD delivers it to your door the next working day in plain packaging. There are no subscriptions, no auto-renewals. Every repeat order goes back through clinical review before it is approved. If you have questions at any point, priority aftercare is available seven days a week.
For a closer look at the dose options available through a private prescription, the 5mg Mounjaro page covers what that stage of treatment involves, and if you are already further along in your titration and wondering where you can buy Mounjaro 7.5mg, our dedicated page explains what that higher dose involves and how to access it. Our Mounjaro overview gives the full clinical picture. Our clinical team page introduces the prescribers reviewing your consultation.
