Step 1: Know what the licensed product actually looks like

Step 2: Understand where the idea of semaglutide bottles comes from

The confusion is understandable. Semaglutide does exist in vial form, but only in clinical and compounding settings in some countries, not as a licensed consumer product in the UK. A useful check: every legitimate online pharmacy in the UK is listed on the GPhC register. The General Pharmaceutical Council's register is publicly searchable, and the presence of a pharmacy's registration number there is one of the clearest trust signals available.

Step 3: Check what's legitimate before spending a penny

If you've been quoted a price for a bottled or vial form of semaglutide from a UK seller, that is a red flag. Licensed Wegovy pens sold privately have ranged from roughly £149 to £375 per month depending on dose and provider, as widely reported following Eli Lilly's list-price changes in August 2025, those figures give you a sense of the realistic market. A vial at a fraction of that price, with no prescriber involved and no clinical assessment, is not a bargain. It answers the wrong question entirely.

Private prescription through a regulated pharmacy is the route for people who do not meet the current NHS criteria or prefer not to wait.
