Wegovy Doses in Order — and How to Get Them Legally in the UK

Free consultation (no appointment, no GP referral needed to get started
Same-day clinical review by a named GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber, never software
Once approved, treatment dispatched the same day (order by 12pm Monday–Friday) via DPD
Free next-working-day tracked delivery in plain, unbranded packaging) with 7-day aftercare included

Wegovy follows a fixed titration ladder in the UK, moving from 0.25mg up to a maximum of 2.4mg (or now 7.2mg) over several months, with each step decided by a prescriber — not chosen by the patient. Because Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine, the only legal route to those doses is a clinical assessment confirming you're a suitable candidate. At nume, a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber reviews your consultation the same day, and once approved, your treatment is dispatched the same day for free next-working-day delivery. You can explore the full Wegovy dosing schedule in detail elsewhere on our site; this page explains how the process of actually getting those doses works, step by step.

Getting Wegovy in the UK: the legal process, the safety checks, and what to expect at each step

Step 1, Complete a clinical consultation (this is not optional, and it should not be)

Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription-only medicine under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. That means no pharmacy (registered or otherwise) can dispense it without a valid prescription, and no prescriber can issue one without a proper clinical assessment first. That is not a formality. The assessment exists because GLP-1 medicines are not suitable for everyone, and a prescriber needs to weigh your health history, any current medications, and your BMI before deciding whether treatment is appropriate and at which starting dose.

At nume, the consultation is free and completed online. You'll be asked about your health history, weight history, any conditions you're managing, and what medicines you currently take. A real clinician reads your answers (not an algorithm) and reviews them against the licensed eligibility criteria. Our pharmacy and clinical team are UK-based, GPhC-registered, and bound by the same professional standards as any high-street dispenser. If the prescriber needs more information, they'll ask for it before proceeding.

The licensed eligibility criteria for Wegovy in adults are a BMI of 30 or above, or 27–29.9 alongside at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, or obstructive sleep apnoea. Lower BMI thresholds can apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance. Meeting those numbers is a starting point; the prescriber assesses the whole picture. You can read a fuller breakdown of who Wegovy is licensed for on our Wegovy overview page.

Step 2, Identity and weight verification, then prescription issued

Before any prescription is issued, nume carries out photo-ID identity verification and live weight verification on video. This is part of our clinical safety infrastructure, not an inconvenience. It means the prescriber is issuing treatment to the person described in the consultation, at a verified weight, which matters when the entire titration schedule is built around where you start. If you want to understand how the Wegovy order of dosage works from the starting pen through to the maintenance dose, our dedicated page walks through each stage in detail.

Transfer patients (people switching from another provider) provide evidence of their current dose and treatment history. Patients requesting a dose increase above the starter level do the same. These checks mirror what the NHS England guidance on weight-management medicines asks of specialist services, and they protect you from receiving a dose that hasn't been clinically validated for your situation. The lead prescriber profile on our site gives more detail on the clinical oversight behind every decision.

Once approved, the prescription is sent directly to our GPhC-registered online pharmacy (premises registration number 9012878, verifiable at the GPhC register). Medicines are sourced through the licensed UK supply chain, with authorised supplier relationships in place with Novo Nordisk. Every repeat order goes through the same clinical re-review, there are no auto-renewals, no subscriptions, no doses issued without a prescriber looking at your case again.

Step 3, Dispatch, delivery, and what happens between doses

Order by 12pm on a weekday and, once clinically approved, your Wegovy is dispatched the same day. It arrives the next working day via DPD, tracked, in plain packaging with nothing on the outside to indicate what's inside. For a lot of people, knowing the pen will arrive before the school run the following morning removes a lot of the anxiety around starting. When you're ready to order Wegovy through our pharmacy, the process runs from consultation through to doorstep delivery entirely online.

Between doses (and especially at each step up the titration ladder) our prescribers are available through priority aftercare, seven days a week. The FAQs on our site cover the questions that come up most often about managing the early weeks of treatment. Any specific questions about whether your dose should change, or what a side effect means for your next step, are for your prescriber to answer based on your individual picture: the NHS guidance on weight-management injections is also a useful reference for what to expect.

A word on buying Wegovy safely: red flags and how to check any pharmacy

The MHRA has issued repeated warnings about fake weight-loss pens sold through social media and unverified online sellers, including counterfeit pens found to contain insulin. In October 2025, the MHRA raided the first UK site manufacturing counterfeit tirzepatide pens. These are not edge cases. Any seller offering these medicines without requiring a prescription, at prices well below market rates, or via Instagram or WhatsApp, is operating outside UK law. If you want a clear overview of the Wegovy steps in order, from consultation through verification to dispatch, our guide sets out exactly what a legitimate process should look like.

Checking is simple. Every legitimate online pharmacy must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Search the GPhC pharmacy register by name or registration number; if the pharmacy doesn't appear, don't use it. You can also report suspected counterfeit or illegally sold medicines directly through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. For context on why clinical oversight matters as much as supply-chain legitimacy, our page on NHS Wegovy access explains the monitoring framework both public and private routes are expected to follow.

If you're ready to find out whether Wegovy is clinically appropriate for you, check your eligibility with a free consultation, reviewed the same day by a prescriber, with no obligation.
