Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine, and the support available to you should always come from qualified healthcare professionals who know your case. Here's exactly where to go and when.

Some symptoms cannot wait for a booked call. The NHS is clear that anyone on a GLP-1 medicine who develops severe, persistent abdominal pain (especially pain that spreads to the back) should seek emergency care promptly. This pattern can signal acute pancreatitis, an infrequent but serious complication the MHRA specifically highlighted in a Drug Safety Update for GLP-1 medicines in January 2026. It is not something to manage with a forum search.
Other symptoms that warrant 999 or an immediate walk-in include signs of a serious allergic reaction (swelling of the face, throat, or tongue; difficulty breathing), sudden or significant changes in vision, or, if you are also living with diabetes, symptoms of severe hypoglycaemia. Dehydration following prolonged vomiting or diarrhoea is more common and still worth an early call to NHS 111 if fluids are not staying down. The NHS medicines page for semaglutide lists these signs clearly and is worth bookmarking on your phone, a one-minute check now could save real stress later.
For anything in this category, the route is always emergency services or NHS 111, not a prescription service helpline. Every member of the nume aftercare team will tell you the same thing.
A clinical support line attached to your prescribing service exists for a different tier of concern: questions about nausea that is not settling, confusion about what to do if a dose was missed, general reassurance about a side effect that seems unusual but is not dangerous. These are conversations your prescriber or a clinical pharmacist is well placed to have, because they can see your records, your starting dose, your health history.
What a helpline cannot safely do is change your dose, advise you to stop treatment, or substitute for a formal clinical review. Making the most of Wegovy involves checking in with your clinical team regularly, not only when something goes wrong. If you have questions about why appetite changes the way it does and why some weeks feel harder than others, our page on how Wegovy helps with weight loss covers the physiology in plain terms.
At nume, patient questions reach a real person on our clinical aftercare team, seven days a week. No automated triage scripts, no generic replies. If a concern needs a prescriber's decision, it gets one, the same day wherever possible.
Reporting a side effect is not just bureaucracy. Every submission to the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme feeds into national post-market safety surveillance, and for a Black Triangle medicine like Wegovy, that surveillance is active and consequential. If you experience something unexpected, or notice a pattern that feels connected to the injection even without certainty, filing a Yellow Card report is worth doing alongside contacting your prescriber.
You do not need a confirmed diagnosis. A suspected link is enough. The MHRA also accepts reports from patients directly, not only from clinicians. This makes Yellow Card one of the few help channels open to you at any time, without a referral or a queue. Reporting takes around ten minutes online. Our wider page on Wegovy as a treatment gives more context on the regulatory background, including what the Black Triangle designation means in practice.
Knowing you have support in place before your first pen arrives is a reasonable thing to want. If you are exploring getting Wegovy on line through a regulated UK online pharmacy, the level of aftercare on offer varies significantly between providers. The NHS England guidance on weight management injections describes what responsible wraparound care looks like, it involves more than a dispensed pen.
At nume, aftercare runs seven days a week; every repeat requires a fresh clinical review, and you are not locked into a subscription that dispatches automatically regardless of how you are doing. Our clinical team (including our lead prescriber, Mostafa Damghani) oversees patient care throughout treatment. If cost is part of your thinking as you weigh up private options, our Wegovy cost page sets out what a transparent, all-inclusive private price covers. Patients with gut conditions sometimes also ask whether the medicine could ease their digestive symptoms, and our page on whether Wegovy helps with IBS explores what the evidence currently shows.
If you would like to find out whether Wegovy is clinically suitable for you, check your eligibility with our prescribers, no commitment, no charge for the consultation.
