Wegovy is a prescription-only medicine; a qualified prescriber must assess your suitability before any supply is legal in the UK. In practice, every legitimate private provider's price covers that clinical assessment alongside the medicine, and the total tends to vary more by dose strength and by what the provider bundles in than by the millilitre volume alone. Wegovy pricing in the UK has shifted considerably since 2025, so it is worth understanding how the figures stack up before you make any decisions.

Picture yourself holding two Wegovy pens side by side. Each contains a clear, colourless solution of semaglutide, and each has a total liquid volume printed on the label. The volume per dose at the lower strengths is smaller; the volume per dose at the higher strengths is slightly larger. That is partly just pharmaceutical formulation: a more concentrated solution can deliver a higher dose in a similar or smaller volume.
What the millilitre figure does not tell you is how much semaglutide you are getting, how far along the titration schedule that dose sits, or whether the pen suits your clinical needs. The prescribing schedule for Wegovy runs from a 0.25 mg starting dose upward through 0.5 mg, 1.0 mg, 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg, with a newly approved 7.2 mg maximum, as detailed on the Wegovy doses per pen page. If you are curious about the exact liquid volume each pen contains, our guide to how many ml are in a Wegovy pen explains how volume varies across the dose range and what those figures actually mean.
For cost comparison purposes, this matters because two pens with identical liquid volume can carry very different doses, and different prices. Comparing providers purely on the volume of solution per pen, or even on per-pen price without knowing which dose that pen contains, rarely gives you a fair picture. The cost of a single Wegovy pen depends on the strength, the provider's pricing structure, and crucially what is included in the quoted figure.
A price quoted for a Wegovy pen in a headline figure or a comparison table can look straightforward. It rarely is. Many providers charge separately for the initial consultation, for the prescription itself, for delivery, and for any follow-up clinical support if a dose change or problem arises. Add those together and a lower headline number can become a higher real-world outlay, sometimes significantly so.
The Wegovy pen cost guide covers this in more detail, but the short version is: always ask what the quoted figure includes before treating it as a like-for-like comparison. A consultation fee of £30 to £75 is common at some services. Delivery charges, especially for a temperature-controlled medicine, add further. Some providers offer aftercare or dose-review support only at an extra tier.
Eli Lilly's list-price increase for Mounjaro in September 2025 reshaped the wider injectable weight-loss market; Wegovy's private pricing has moved in parallel. Reported private prices for Wegovy across UK providers have ranged roughly £149 to £375 per month depending on dose and service level, though individual providers set their own figures and those change. These are market-context figures drawn from widely reported coverage, not a price promise from us. The Wegovy pen price page carries updated context.
One practical check you can do in under a minute: open the GPhC pharmacy register and search the name of any provider you are considering. If they do not appear as a registered pharmacy, stop there. That single lookup filters out a large proportion of unsafe sellers before you have spent a penny.
At nume, one price covers everything: the consultation, the prescription, the medicine at your current dose, next-working-day tracked delivery, and clinical aftercare seven days a week. There are no tiers, no add-ons, and no repeat fees, though every repeat order goes through a fresh clinical review, because that is what responsible prescribing looks like. You can see current treatment pricing on the treatment page.
We are not the cheapest option on any comparison table, and that is a deliberate choice. Keeping the clinical review genuine, the supply chain licensed, and the aftercare staffed costs more than a stripped-back pen-dispatch model. We think that is the right trade-off; you may want to weigh it yourself. What we can say plainly is that the figure you see on our treatment page is the figure you pay, there is no separate prescription charge waiting at checkout, no delivery fee, and no follow-up consultation invoice.
Our prescribers are GPhC-registered Independent Prescribers, not a triage algorithm. A real clinician reads your consultation the same day and makes a considered decision. You can read more about how we work on the about us page.
Semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy) is a prescription-only medicine under UK law. The Human Medicines Regulations require a valid prescription issued after a genuine clinical assessment before it can be supplied legally. That clinical layer is not a formality or a box-ticking exercise; it is the check that catches contraindications, flags interactions, and sets a dose that is appropriate for your circumstances.
The MHRA has warned publicly and repeatedly about fake weight-loss pens sold through social media and unofficial websites, some containing insulin rather than the labelled medicine. In 2025, enforcement operations seized roughly 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines with a street value of around £45 million. The first illicit UK manufacturing site producing counterfeit tirzepatide pens was raided the same year. The MHRA's guidance on GLP-1 medicines sets out what legitimate supply looks like and how to report suspect sellers.
A small saving per ml is not the measure that keeps you safe. Genuine medicine from a verifiable supply chain, prescribed by a qualified clinician, dispensed by a registered pharmacy, that is the standard to apply. If you are ready to explore whether Wegovy is clinically suitable for you, start your free consultation and a prescriber will review your case the same day.
