Start journey Learn moreIn the UK, buying Mounjaro legally means obtaining it on a valid prescription following a clinical assessment — there is no other lawful route. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, and no pharmacy, whether on the high street or online, can dispense it without one. Once you have that prescription from a qualified prescriber who has assessed your health, a regulated UK service like ours can have it with you as soon as the next working day.

Most people arrive at this search after hearing about Mounjaro from a friend, a GP, or a news story, and they want to know whether they can get it without a six-month NHS queue. The short answer: yes, through a private regulated pharmacy, subject to a clinical assessment, and you can buy Mounjaro through our service once a prescriber has confirmed you are suitable. The longer answer is worth reading, because the internet is currently full of sellers who will take your money and ship you something that is not what it claims to be.
Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine in the UK under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. A prescriber must assess you before any legitimate pharmacy can supply it. That assessment exists for good reason: it checks your BMI, your medical history, your other medicines, and your suitability for treatment. Buying it any other way is not just illegal, it is genuinely dangerous. The MHRA has urged people to report suspect sellers, and enforcement actions in 2025 led to the seizure of roughly 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines worth around £45 million, including a raided site in Northampton producing counterfeit tirzepatide pens.
If you are wondering whether the NHS route applies to you, the NHS criteria for Mounjaro are specific and phased; many people who are clinically suitable do not yet qualify under the current rollout thresholds. Private prescription is the alternative for those who do not want to wait.
The process through a properly regulated online pharmacy is more straightforward than many people expect. At nume, it runs like this.
First, you complete a free online consultation, medical history, current medicines, weight, height. No payment is taken at this stage. A named GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber then reads your answers personally. This is not automated triage; a real clinician reviews your case and, if treatment is clinically appropriate, issues a prescription. If it is not appropriate, you will be told plainly and, where relevant, pointed toward alternatives.
Once the prescription is issued, our GPhC-registered pharmacy prepares your order. Photo ID verification and live weight confirmation on video are part of our process, steps that filter out the people for whom this treatment is not safe. Orders placed before 12pm go out the same day with DPD, arriving the next working day in unmarked packaging. If you are thinking about timing (say, ordering just before a bank holiday or after a late payday) it is worth placing your order on a weekday morning to keep the same-day dispatch guarantee in play.
You can verify our pharmacy on the GPhC register directly: our premises registration number is 9012878, checkable at pharmacyregulation.org. Any legitimate UK online pharmacy will have an equivalent entry. If you cannot find a seller there, stop.
For more detail on the online route specifically, our guide to buying Mounjaro online covers what the process looks like from first click to delivery.
Private eligibility for Mounjaro follows the medicine's UK licence. Adults with a BMI of 30 or above qualify on BMI alone. Adults with a BMI between 27 and 29.9 may also qualify if they have at least one weight-related condition, for example, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, or obstructive sleep apnoea. For some ethnic backgrounds, UK clinical guidance applies lower BMI thresholds, typically 2.5 kg/m² below the figures above.
BMI alone does not guarantee a prescription. The prescriber looks at the whole picture: your history of pancreatitis, your current medicines (some interact with Mounjaro's effect on gastric emptying), and whether any conditions make treatment unsuitable. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and actively trying to conceive all mean Mounjaro is not recommended. The medicine is not licensed for under-18s.
If you want to understand the NHS criteria separately from the private route, our NHS Mounjaro page sets out the phased rollout thresholds as published by NICE and NHS England. The NICE appraisal TA1026, published in December 2024, is the primary source for those thresholds. Private eligibility is a clinical judgement; NHS eligibility is a policy gate, the two are different.
Questions about GP notification? Some people worry about that. Our prescribers follow GPhC guidance on GP communication; if that matters to you, we have answered it directly.
The counterfeit market for weight-loss pens is large and growing. Fake pens seized in recent MHRA operations have been found to contain insulin rather than tirzepatide, a substitution that can be life-threatening if the person injecting is not diabetic. The pattern of risky sellers is consistent: no prescription required before purchase, prices well below the market range, payment through informal channels, and no GPhC registration you can verify.
Discount codes for prescription medicines from sources you have not verified are a specific red flag. Legitimate pharmacies do not run promotional codes on POMs. If a seller is offering Mounjaro at a steep discount with a code, the product's authenticity is the first thing to question, not the price.
The safe approach is simple: check the GPhC register before you buy anywhere, confirm that a real prescriber will assess you before any medicine is dispensed, and use the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme to report anything suspicious.
