Start journey Learn moreWegovy's price in the UK has not broadly fallen. If anything, private costs have trended upward in the past year, driven partly by supply pressures and prescription overheads. The honest answer: as of summer 2026, private Wegovy treatment through a regulated UK pharmacy typically runs from around £150 to over £300 a month depending on dose and provider — and those figures have not meaningfully dropped. These are prescription-only medicines, which means a qualified prescriber must assess your suitability before any treatment can be dispensed. The price question is worth understanding in full before you decide where to go.

That's the situation most people arrive in. One site quotes £149, another £290, a third doesn't publish a price at all. None of them are necessarily lying, they're just pricing different things, or different doses.
Wegovy is titrated upward from 0.25mg to a maintenance dose, and the higher doses cost more per pen. A headline monthly price at the starter dose tells you very little about what you'll spend at month six. What's also worth knowing is that NICE has recommended semaglutide for weight management under specific NHS criteria, but on the NHS, access is restricted to specialist services and waiting lists are long. Private pricing fills that gap.
The Wegovy 7.2mg pen, approved by the MHRA in April 2026 as a dedicated single-dose format, sits at the top of the schedule and carries a higher price point. Whether that dose becomes part of your treatment is a prescriber's call, not a shopping decision.
A question our prescribers hear most weeks: "I found it cheaper somewhere else, is it the same stuff?" Sometimes yes, sometimes genuinely not. The rest of this page covers how to tell the difference.
The private weight-loss medicine market is not consistently priced or consistently transparent. Before comparing figures, it helps to check what a quoted price actually covers.
Some providers charge separately for the consultation, typically £20–£80. Others add a prescription fee. Delivery is frequently an extra charge, sometimes per order. Aftercare, dose-review support and repeat-prescription oversight may sit behind a subscription wall or simply not exist.
That's not a complaint about competitors, it's consumer information. When you total those components, the gap between a cheap headline and an all-in total often closes considerably. The NHS guidance on weight-management injections stresses that clinical oversight (titration support, monitoring, access to help with side effects) is part of the treatment, not a nice-to-have. Pricing that strips that out is pricing a different thing.
Our treatment pricing is visible on the treatments page. It covers everything: consultation, prescription, medicine, delivery, and aftercare.
The short version: no clear near-term downward trend is expected for private UK Wegovy pricing. Eli Lilly raised Mounjaro's UK list price significantly from September 2025, the highest-dose pen moved from around £122 to around £330. Novo Nordisk has not announced an equivalent cut for Wegovy. Supply constraints, manufacturing costs, and the administrative cost of legitimate clinical oversight all sit underneath private prices. You can follow the price trajectory more closely on our analysis of whether Wegovy prices are likely to fall.
Branded generic alternatives and wider NHS rollout could shift the market in time, but those timelines are uncertain. Anyone telling you prices are definitely coming down soon is speculating. If you want the broader view of whether Wegovy will ever get cheaper, we've covered that separately.
What has changed is access. More clinically eligible people can now use private providers, and with a free consultation, the barrier to finding out if you qualify is zero. You can also see how Wegovy's price history has moved on our dedicated page on Wegovy price increases.
We are not the cheapest option for Wegovy. That's a deliberate choice, not an oversight. A lower price is easy to achieve, skip proper identity verification, cut the aftercare, remove the same-day prescriber review, use a dispensing model that skips the clinical re-check before each repeat. Some providers have made exactly those cuts.
Wegovy is a Prescription-Only Medicine. The MHRA has flagged counterfeit weight-loss pens sold via social media and unofficial channels, some containing insulin rather than semaglutide. Fake pens have led to hospitalisations. The safe test isn't the cheapest price, it's a pharmacy you can look up on the GPhC register, a named prescriber reviewing your answers, and a supply chain that runs through licensed UK distributors. You can verify us at GPhC premises number 9012878.
At nume, a real clinician reads your consultation before anything is dispensed. Not software. Not an automated flag system. If you want a clear picture of what the current Wegovy price looks like and what it includes, we've laid that out in full. Questions about whether Wegovy is coming down in price right now, or about whether Wegovy will come down in price further down the line, are ones our prescribers are asked regularly, and we've answered both honestly. Your prescription is written by a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber, and that same level of oversight applies to every repeat. Our clinical team is there if you want to know more about how the service works.
If you're ready to find out whether Wegovy is right for you, the next step is a free consultation, and it's reviewed the same day.
