Start journey Learn moreIn the UK private market, Mounjaro and Wegovy are priced per monthly pen, and what you pay varies by dose and provider. Prices for both medicines have shifted considerably in 2025 and into 2026, with Mounjaro's list price rising sharply from September 2025. Both are prescription-only medicines, which means a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber is part of any legitimate purchase — the price should always reflect that. If you're comparing the two on cost alone, this page walks through what the figures actually include and why that matters more than the headline number.

Private pricing for both Mounjaro (tirzepatide, made by Eli Lilly) and Wegovy (semaglutide, made by Novo Nordisk) is set per four-week pen. Neither is available cheaply: both are branded, specialist medicines dispensed only on prescription after clinical review.
Wegovy has been on the UK private market longer, and its pricing has been relatively stable. Mounjaro's trajectory changed significantly when Eli Lilly revised its UK list price from 1 September 2025, the highest dose moved from around £122 to around £330 per four-week pen. Typical private prices across providers have since ranged roughly £149–£375 per month depending on dose and where you go, for either medicine. Those figures are widely reported and worth treating as a range rather than fixed constants; your own dose will sit somewhere within that band. If you want a clearer picture of how the two medicines stack up financially, our page comparing Wegovy vs Mounjaro prices sets out the current market figures in one place. The NICE appraisal of tirzepatide (TA1026) and NICE's recommendation for semaglutide (TA875) set out the clinical thresholds for NHS access, which is a separate route with its own eligibility criteria and waiting times.
The key point at this stage: comparing a £X Mounjaro quote with a £Y Wegovy quote only makes sense once you know what each price actually contains. That's step two.
Some providers quote the medicine cost and bill separately for the consultation, the prescription, delivery, and any follow-up clinical review. Others bundle everything. A few charge a subscription that auto-renews whether you need the next pen or not.
When you're comparing mounjaro vs wegovy price side by side, it's worth asking each provider the same four questions: Is the clinical consultation included? Is the prescription charge included? Is delivery free and tracked? What happens when you need a dose increase or have a question at the weekend? The answers shift the real comparison considerably. A headline figure that looks lower can finish higher once those extras land.
It's also worth noting that both medicines are titrated upward over several months. Your starting dose costs less than your maintenance dose. A provider quoting the starter-dose price may be presenting the lowest possible figure rather than what a full treatment course costs. Our guide to Wegovy price compared to Mounjaro across the dose range goes through this in more detail, as does our breakdown of Wegovy vs Mounjaro cost by dose.
We price Mounjaro and Wegovy as part of one transparent, all-in figure. That means the consultation, the prescription, the medicine itself, and next-working-day DPD delivery are all covered, you'll get a tracking notification on your phone and a plain, unmarked box at the door. No separate fees surface at checkout. No subscription quietly renews. Every repeat order is clinically re-reviewed by a real prescriber before it goes out.
We don't compete on being the lowest number on a comparison search. Clinician time costs something. So does a GPhC-registered pharmacy with MHRA-regulated dispensing. If you want to understand who reviews your prescription at nume, our clinical team page sets that out. You can also verify our pharmacy on the GPhC register at registration number 9012878.
Current treatment pricing is shown on our weight-loss treatments page. We don't print per-pen figures in articles because doses vary and the right number for you depends on where you are in treatment, something our prescribers discuss with you.
For a prescription-only medicine, the right question is whether the supply is genuine, the prescribing is safe, and the clinical support is real. Those things cost money.
The MHRA has warned repeatedly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold without a prescription through unverified online channels. In October 2025 the first illicit UK site producing fake tirzepatide pens was raided; in 2025 alone, around 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines (roughly £45m street value) were seized. A price far below the market range for a prescription medicine is a signal worth treating seriously, not a bargain. The MHRA's Yellow Card service allows anyone to report a suspect seller.
The mounjaro price vs wegovy comparison that matters isn't £X vs £Y per pen. It's whether you're getting a prescription issued by a qualified clinician who has actually reviewed your health, medicine that came through the licensed UK supply chain, and a pharmacy you can look up on a public register. If you'd like to compare the two medicines on clinical grounds rather than cost, our Wegovy vs Mounjaro overview covers the evidence. For anyone researching the cost angle specifically, our Mounjaro vs Ozempic price page is also useful if you're weighing up a broader set of options, and this price comparison page sets that out plainly too.
