Start journey Learn moreUK private pricing for Mounjaro and Wegovy varies by dose and provider, and any legitimate quote covers a prescription following clinical assessment — not just the pen. Since Eli Lilly raised Mounjaro's UK list price in September 2025, reported private market prices range from roughly £149 to £375 per month depending on the dose and where you go; Wegovy sits in a broadly similar band. Neither medicine can legally be supplied without a valid prescription, so comparing prices means comparing the whole package: clinical oversight, supply-chain safety, and aftercare — not just the number on a product page. As prescription-only medicines, Mounjaro and Wegovy require a clinical assessment by a prescriber who decides whether either is appropriate for you.

NICE recommended tirzepatide (Mounjaro) in December 2024 following a detailed appraisal that drew on the SURMOUNT clinical programme. In SURMOUNT-1, the highest dose produced an average body-weight reduction of around 20–21% over 72 weeks. The NICE tirzepatide appraisal (TA1026) sets the NHS eligibility bar at BMI 35 or above with at least one weight-related condition, a useful anchor for understanding why the medicine is priced the way it is privately: the clinical development behind it was extensive.
Semaglutide (Wegovy) has held its NICE recommendation since 2023. In the STEP 1 trial, the 2.4mg maintenance dose produced around 15% average weight loss over 68 weeks, as published in the New England Journal of Medicine. A higher 7.2mg dose was approved by the MHRA in early 2026, with trial data pointing to roughly 20.7% average loss, narrowing the gap with tirzepatide's highest dose considerably. These numbers matter in a price-and-comparison context because they explain why both medicines sit at a premium in the private market: the clinical evidence behind them is unusually strong, and the regulatory oversight is ongoing (both carry a Black Triangle, meaning the MHRA actively monitors post-market safety).
If you want a side-by-side look at outcomes and access, the fuller Wegovy vs Mounjaro comparison covers both treatments in detail.
Here is a misconception worth clearing up gently: the headline monthly figure is rarely the full cost. Plenty of online listings show a per-pen price without mentioning that a consultation fee, prescription charge and delivery are each billed separately. By the time those are added, the apparent saving over a higher headline price can shrink to nothing, or reverse.
A legitimate private price for either Mounjaro or Wegovy should account for: a clinical consultation with a qualified prescriber; the prescription itself; the medicine; and delivery. Aftercare (someone to contact if side effects arise, or when you want to discuss a dose change) is less commonly included but arguably the most clinically important element. The full cost breakdown comparing Wegovy and Mounjaro goes into this in more detail if you want to run the numbers.
Also worth knowing: since the Lilly price increase of September 2025, Mounjaro's list price rose steeply at higher doses, reported private prices for the top strength now reach around £330–£375 per month with some providers. Wegovy pricing has remained somewhat more stable, though it follows a similar dose-dependent curve. If you are trying to plan your budget across a full titration schedule, it helps to look at wegovy vs mounjaro prices by dose before you commit to a provider. These figures are widely reported and hedged here because provider pricing moves; what matters structurally is that lower doses cost less, and the dose you'll need is a clinical question, not one you can answer at checkout.
For a direct look at the numbers by dose, Mounjaro vs Wegovy pricing in the UK maps this out clearly, and if your main question is how Mounjaro and Ozempic compare on price, that breakdown is worth reading alongside it.
We are not the cheapest option for either medicine. That is intentional. Our single price covers the consultation, the prescription, the treatment, and free next-working-day delivery, nothing is held back for a separate charge. A named GPhC-registered prescriber reads every consultation the same day; a bot does not. Before any repeat is dispatched, there is a clinical re-review. Photo ID, live weight verification by video, and GP notification are part of every patient's journey at nume.
You can verify our pharmacy on the GPhC register (premises number 9012878), that link goes directly to our entry. We source both Mounjaro and Wegovy through the licensed UK supply chain via authorised Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk relationships. Treatment pricing is shown on the consultation and treatment page; we do not print per-pen prices in body copy because a price without a clinical context is meaningless for a prescription medicine.
If you have questions before starting, the FAQs cover the most common ones, and our clinical team page (led by our lead prescriber) explains how oversight works in practice.
The MHRA has warned publicly about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online, some containing insulin rather than the stated medicine, with hospitalisations resulting. Enforcement in 2025 resulted in roughly 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines being seized (around £45 million worth) including the first UK site found manufacturing fake tirzepatide pens. Counterfeit sellers frequently lead with price.
For anyone comparing a Mounjaro and Wegovy price, the practical checklist is: can you verify the pharmacy on the GPhC register? Is a qualified prescriber conducting the clinical assessment? Is the supply chain licensed? Those questions settle the comparison faster than any monthly figure, and our page on wegovy price compared to mounjaro includes a section on spotting legitimate providers if you want to go further.
A small difference in monthly spend is simply the wrong measure for a medicine that affects how your body processes food, requires titration, and carries an ongoing MHRA monitoring requirement. The right measure is whether you are getting genuine medicine, a real prescriber, and support when you need it. Check your eligibility and see what that looks like in practice on our weight-loss treatment overview.
