Start journey Learn moreThe only legal way to buy Mounjaro for weight loss in the UK is through a prescription issued by a registered prescriber, following a clinical assessment that confirms you're a suitable candidate. Mounjaro is a Prescription-Only Medicine — no pharmacy, online or otherwise, can supply it without that assessment. Here is exactly how the process works, what to look for in a legitimate provider, and where the risks lie if something looks too easy. If you'd like to check your eligibility with our clinical team, that consultation is free and takes only a few minutes.

How it works
Tell us about your health, history and goals. Free, online, and confidential — no commitment, no waiting room.
Our team reviews your health the same day — never an algorithm, and approves your treatment there and then if eligible.
Order by 12pm, dispatched same day, delivered free the next working day — the nume Promise.
Before any prescription can be written, a prescriber must assess whether Mounjaro is appropriate for you. That means a structured health questionnaire covering your weight, medical history, current medicines and relevant conditions. At a reputable provider, a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber reads those answers personally. Ours do, the same day you submit, without exception.
The licensed criteria for Mounjaro as a weight-management medicine require a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above alongside at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea or type 2 diabetes. Lower BMI thresholds can apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK clinical guidance. Meeting those numbers is the starting point, not the finish line; the prescriber weighs the whole picture. You can read more about who qualifies on our Mounjaro overview page.
Providers who skip this step, or reduce it to a tick-box, are not operating legally. The consultation protects you, it catches contraindications, flags interactions, and ensures the dose progression is right for your health profile, not just your BMI. If you want a clear walkthrough of the full process before you begin, our page on how to get Mounjaro for weight loss takes you through each stage in plain terms.
Every online pharmacy dispensing prescription medicines in the UK must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You can check any provider's registration (including ours) on the GPhC pharmacy register directly. Our premises registration number is 9012878. That check takes under a minute and tells you the site is subject to GPhC oversight, inspection and professional standards.
Look also for clear information about who is prescribing, where medicines are sourced, and how aftercare is handled. Vague answers on any of those three points are a warning sign. The MHRA has issued repeated public warnings about counterfeit weight-loss pens sold online and via social media, pens that have in some cases contained insulin rather than tirzepatide, leading to hospitalisations. In 2025 alone, enforcement actions resulted in approximately 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines being seized, with a combined estimated value of around £45 million. The details are set out on the MHRA Yellow Card site, where you can also report any suspect seller. The practical red flags: prices far below anything a legitimate supply chain could sustain, sellers requiring no clinical assessment, and discount codes for Prescription-Only Medicines from sources you cannot verify.
Once a prescriber approves your consultation, a prescription is issued and the pharmacy dispenses your Mounjaro pen. At nume, sourcing runs through the licensed UK supply chain with authorised Eli Lilly supplier relationships. Your pen is dispensed from our GPhC-registered pharmacy and sent out the same day if you ordered before 12pm, arriving by DPD the next working day, tracked, in plain packaging that gives nothing away at the door.
The pen itself is a pre-filled KwikPen; each one contains four weekly doses. Mounjaro is injected once a week and is typically stored in the fridge, many people keep it in the fridge door alongside everyday items, which serves as a practical reminder. Treatment starts at 2.5mg as a tolerability dose, with the prescriber guiding any progression from there.
Delivery is included. So is the prescription, the consultation, and access to our prescribers for aftercare queries seven days a week. There are no subscriptions and no automatic renewals; every repeat order is clinically re-reviewed before it is dispensed. For a full picture of our process and team, the about us page has the detail.
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is phased and the eligibility criteria are considerably stricter than the licensed criteria for private prescriptions. From June 2025, NHS commissioning covers adults with a BMI of 40 or above plus four or more of a specific list of weight-related conditions. A second cohort, covering BMI 35–39.9 with the same comorbidity requirement, opened in June 2026. Waiting times through specialist services can be long even for those who qualify, and our page covering the weight loss jab Mounjaro on the NHS explains what that access currently looks like in practice. Our NHS Mounjaro page sets out the current phased rollout in full, and the eligibility guide explains what each cohort requires.
Private treatment through a regulated online pharmacy is the alternative for people who do not meet the NHS thresholds yet, or who would rather not wait. It requires no GP referral and no waiting list, only clinical suitability, assessed by a prescriber. If you want an estimate of where you sit before starting, the Mounjaro weight-loss calculator gives a useful starting point. And if you have general questions before committing to anything, our FAQs cover the queries our prescribers hear most often.
